May not be a GT but the 2155 hauled some rocks for us today. Was real nice weather to be outside. Had to move the slate rocks bordering the front flower bed in prep for some backhoe work to rehab the front basement wall. It started as a team effort to load the cart but soon turned into a 'me load' & 'the kid drove' kind of project. Also carted the lighthouse back to the garage for some repairs too. Next up is digging out the plantings that we want to save.

Took advantage of the nice weather and started to get the 1872 ready for the spring plow days. I was going to go with the Ruegg hitch but I've got the cast rear and needed the access hole for the fill plug so I went with the xtreme since I've had good luck with them in the past. Now I've got to clean up some surface rust spots on the frame and fender pan while it's apart. I hate painting!

Spring is Coming!
With the warm weekend, most of the snow is gone up here in SW Ontario, but later this week the lake effect is supposed to kick in again and cover us. It was +10C (50F) this weekend!
Anyway, with cabin fever and pics of you guys down south and your cubs out and about, thought I would get out too. With the snow all gone, the grass was a lot longer than I thought after the last cut of the season last year. The warm winter must of got it growing, as I don't remember it being this long! Ever. Got the cub out in the long grass to do some mowing. http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/...pschik6rmj.jpg Looked pretty good, grass was pretty long. Ended up burying the tractor in a rut in the back 40! http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/...psckkdmoxn.jpg That pretty much concluded my day out. Had to get the Tonka out for a tow. Should have had a 982 like Allan! Never would have gotten stuck. Looking forward to spring guys!!! |

VIDEO LINK: Cub Cadet 1811 Project - Battery/Charging Issue, Oil & Filter Change and Cleaning
Updated my project thread today but yesterday, I spent some time getting the 1811 ready for summer. Unfortunately, I am having electrical problems. If you have a suggestion for a replacement battery, please let me know. On the plus side, the engine has been cleaned and been given an oil change. |
Thanks for the update and vid!

I'm leaning toward battery. Did you put a voltmeter on it? If so what were the volts while running WOT?
Your lights will work, but still not have enough juice in the battery to start it. Hopefully one of the grand wizards will come along with some other possibilities. In you first video you pointed to the solenoid and called it a starter, but you knew that, just a little confusion, right?:biggrin2: |

After the battery had been charged yesterday morning (video below), I was able to get the 1811s lights to work and for it to turn the motor over. Now I am sure it is a charging issue. Update Video to the Part 1 above. Quote:

Had some beet juice put in the tires this morning. Also installed the nifty xtreme tool box.

Did my first mowing with the 2072 and 46GT deck. Power steering is really nice, and the turning radius seems better on the 2072 vs the 1450, even though it's a bigger tractor. Cut quality is great, but the deck is very loud, sounds like a jet engine about to take off. Overall, it's going to be hard to go back to a non power steering tractor for mowing.
