Yeah, it was the first cub I ever had as my own. Did a "face lift on it back some years ago... Learned from my mistakes. But at least I learned.:bigthink:

Hey guys,....!

Hello guys! Well, I just wanted to update what I have been up to in my IH Cub Cadet addictions!

Last week at work I got my hand and arm caught in a puller used in an extrusion line. I was hurt quite badly, but nothing broke and no stitches required. More so was nightmares about the accident, if you can imagine being pulled into a huge chipper shredder. This puller was huge. Thank God for all safety stop switches!

Anyhow, this limited my progress on my IHCC projects, as of today, my arm stopped feeling numb.

125: I got a carb. kit for the carb. I need to clean and install it to the 125. Also got Kohler engine oil and two gallons of Hy-Tran from my local dealer. Still much cleaning and assembling to go before it's ready to start!

1450: It's in good running order. Just sitting pretty in the garage under a cover. Has been a nice mower this season with the IH 38" deck I put on it!

Snowplow project: I have been in the process of adding 7" to each side of my good condition IH 42" push blade for an over-all width of 56" ! I used 14" from an old IH 42" push blade that seen better days. The project is coming along great! It's going to be a stout blade for sure. Not going to use it for dirt/gravel duty. It's been my experience that these awesome IHCC garden tractors when properly equipped, are more tractor that these blade units can handle when using for dirt and gravel stuff! This IH 56" blade will be painted and ready for mount on my all-gear drive IHCC model 72.

Thanks!:biggrin2:

That's all for now!

ACecil 10-17-2016 11:16 AM

Sorry to hear that, John! Glad it wasn't worse for you.

ACecil 10-18-2016 07:27 PM

Took 121 for a nice evening ride. Nice to ride and get your mind of off things for a while! I'm thinking I'd like to find a 129 with hydraulic lift or a 149 someday to go with 121. Would love to have another hydro for certain jobs.:beerchug:

cubcadet 10-18-2016 08:02 PM

Sorry to hear that John, nice to take a cruise on a cub!:beerchug:

Here's some pics I took of the 1864 after a few hours of grass-killing yesterday before I put it back in the shed.:beerchug:

Started levelling the spot where the poplar stump was. The stump grinder's left two roots so it looks like Manuel labor may be called into service. Hope to have some seed down before the next chance of rain later in the week.]

Got the deck off my 2182. Scraped, wire brushed, oiled, and put in the back of the shed. Done mowing till next spring! Looks like a new belt is on the list of parts for next year.:bigthink:

Oh I don't know Jay. My Original sitting in the living room gives me enjoyment. If I can't use it, and the wife don't want to, and I sure as heck won't sell it, seeing it there and thinking of all the work that went into it... gives me enjoyment.:bigthink:
I know, there made to have mud on the tires, but I do enjoy going to a museum every once and awhile...:biggrin2:

Well OK Todd.... you may have a point there!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

I'd love to have one in my livingroom!:beerchug: My wife may say otherwise though!!:beerchug:

Your point is well taken though... there are many different ways to enjoy things!:biggrin2:

I have had to take chunks at a single project I have been working on while keeping the overall cost to a minimum; loaded rear wheels for the 782. The wheels were kept from the donor 782; the rims were horribly rusted and tires majorly weather cracked. Tires removed, used a grinder, yes a grinder on the rust. Had the rims sandblasted then painted them with a rattle can with Rustoleum Canvas White. Happy with them. Tires mounted, new tubes installed, and 7 1/2 gallon of RV antifreeze in each wheel. My 34 lb rear wheels turned into 98 lbs each. Once I get them mounted to the tractor, I will then add the MTD 75 lb wheel weight to each side. Don't have a set of tire chains yet but working on it.

But the real fun of the day was washing the 782 and my 1940 Minneapolis Moline ZTU then my 3 boys and the neighbor kids all came over and they took turns getting tractor rides. I am not sure who had more fun with that, them of this 40 yr old kid.

Sorry, no pics...I know I know...blasphemy.

Since it gets dark at 645 (545 next week with the time change) it's hard to get a lot done after work in the daylight. And living in the woods I have to do it he leafs about 2-3 times a week. Hopefully they will be done in the next few weeks.

Got the 2372 (1872) ready for it's winter nap. Cleaned up the Haban, removed the front mower angles and put grease between them and the shell to hold out moisture, and hopefully keep rust out.
Oiled up the underside with waist oil, and finally installed the new blades. Picked up this NOS hour meter awhile back, and finally installed it. Figuring the "new" engine needed a new hour meter.
Blew all the dusk and crap out from around the engine, and put it away for the year.:beerchug:

jaynjeep 11-08-2016 06:09 PM

Nice work Todd!! Always great to pull it out in the spring ready to go!:beerchug:

I like the new hour meter! Now you can say you got a NEW tractor next year!!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

Thanks Jay. :beerchug: I wouldn't say it's a "new" tractor, it's better than a new one.:biggrin2:

Dirty Steve 11-09-2016 04:21 AM

:beerchug: Maintenance is the key, Todd. Nice touch with the new hour meter. And hardened blades too!

finsruskw 11-09-2016 07:48 AM

Got some tires filled w/fluid today.
w/the fluid (W/S washer) and the weights I added + 2 link chains, I'm at 185# per wheel.
3 weights per wheel. 2 are modified dumbbell pieces, drilled and notched for valve stem clearance and 1 Cub weight on the outside.
This should make the 882 push some serious snow.

darkminion_17 11-09-2016 06:40 PM

Nice work Mr. Z keepin' it clean...

sound like a lot of poundage for the 882,are you a person that is lean ?

I got my dad's 1440 all cleaned up for winter hibernation, it gets used to mow around the buildings and despite my best efforts it sits outside all summer and was covered in black stuff. Hopefully I can get a coat of wax on it tomorrow before it gets put away.
