Kohler Engine Oil

Changed the engine oil in the 72 the other day, ready for snow season! You can see how it's drained, don't get none on the ground, and I use the used for the old push mower. Ha!

Good Heavens Allen, I'll bet it took longer to dump the hopper than it did to fill it up!

Good work.

Thanks Mark! We were pretty busy! :biggrin2:

zippy1 11-20-2016 12:28 AM

1864 Electrical Issue

2 Attachment(s)
Got the new to me 1864 running last week and it just stopped on me in the driveway, blew the 20 amp fuse. So today, in checking the simple things first, I went ahead and took the key switch out and Man O' Man was it fried. Cut the plug off and soldered/heat shrinked a brand new connector to the ignition switch and put a new switch in the thing, started right up no hesitation.
That switch was $29.00 freaking dollars,,,,,,and not even gold plated WTH.
Oh well, support you local cub dealer LOL.

ccguy 11-22-2016 09:48 AM

I'd say you've got your money out of that switch Joe! I've had to replace every ignition switch in my equipment...they seem to be the root of electrical problems on the machines...

BIGMOZEKE 11-23-2016 04:08 AM

Just got the tractor a couple of weeks ago and wanted to get this little problem taken care of before it caused more trouble when I needed it.
I put plenty of that "bulb grease" stuff on all of the contacts to help prevent this from happening in the future.

john hall 11-27-2016 01:12 AM

Allen, you need proper attire for those jobs. I'm thinking a "pilgrim" hat for the fall decorations and a Santa/elf hat for Christmas. I guess a straw hat for spring? :biggrin2:

After servicing the engine with new plugs, oil and filters, I hung the rear weights. ( see post about the homemade tool in the tool forum) Now the 1882 is ready for winter. Some of you may remember the "dirty girl" post when i brought this one home. She has had a makeover and is ready to play again. Stan
