Lookin good Todd!!:beerchug: That is some purdy grass you got there:biggrin2::biggrin2: What kinda grass do you have mostly?:bigthink: Looks a little like St Augustine or Fescue? Around here most of ours is Centipede or Bermuda. I cant keep mine cut this year... abundant rain has kept it hopping!!

A few days ago I was only on my second day of big mowing with my new 1863, parked it for a little bit and came back to see all of its oil underneath it. And just when I thought I had one that would stay out of the shop!

It looks WAY better in pictures than in person. There's a wide range of clover, alfalfa, crabgrass, and some other broadleaf. It's green, that's all I know. If the yard wasn't so big, I'd like to treat it and get rid of the undesirables, but that ain't happening, would cost a small fortune. |

Did some pressure washing on my new to me 1641 this afternoon, after I vacuumed the grass and oil mix out for about an hour! need to pull the motor now and open it up, I guess its got a broken rod inside. already pulled the pto to put on my other 1641, it was blown up on that one.

There is a section of my yard I've neglected to mow the last couple times since I was in a hurry, Saturday I had plenty of time and here's a video of the 1211 taking care of business. The grass was about 8" tall and when I was done the clippings were 4" thick, the 1211 has gator blades on it.

Worked at the cemetery filling in sunken pathways between rows of graves.
The 882 did an outstanding job. |

Got a couple hours of seat time killing grass on the 2264, damn that is a sweet machine.:beerchug:
|
I tried to put on the lift pin assembly of the sleeve hitch for my 107 until I realized I was missing a bracket!:bigthink:
|
worked on it for 4 hrs. just to mow for 3. talked ugly to it and wished someone would steal it so I could collect homeowner's theft insurance and buy a new GT-:ROTF2:

ALRIGHT!
Just got my old CCC 1211 back today from my friend whom I sold it to! I have to get it going, but its great to have this garden tractor back!!! Also, friends that give you their word: "If I sell it, I'll ask you first" . Can't wait to get it going! |
Me and my son mowed for 2 1/2 hrs each. Started with the 2072 and 2284. Then we went to the 982 and 1811. To finish the day I logged 2 more hrs bushhogging with an IH 454.
|
Spent 2 1/2 hrs. of thinking time on the dual stick 1650 cutting the lawn. Didn't take so long today, as the woman was on her orange "thingy", and we met in the middle.:biggrin2:
Help is help, regardless of the color, or quality of the tractor I guess.:bigthink: |
I finished mounting the QA42A thrower on my "Zippy 149". Test ran everything to make sure it all works. I'm ready for whatever winter throws our way. At the rate our weather is going, that will likely be sooner rather than later.

I do not see a lot of pictures guys, just a bunch of rambling about cuttin' grass.

Your grass always looks nice after you cut it. Roland should put it up in the header photo. |

2284 went to miss'in bad today when I started to mow the lawn.:bash2: Had to reach in the back of the shed for the 2182. In a flurry of activity, I swapped the deck and got the dang lawn mowed eventually. Yeah, the deck settles quickly.

Thanks, Master of Lew, but that ain't up to me.:beerchug: |

Cut the grass today, old skewl with the 108.
|
Cut grass with the 2264 and then cut brush with the 1641 with the Haban Sickle mower. Beats using the weed eater. :beerchug:

Got the lawn mowed with the 2182. Grass was still damp at 1330. Hot and humid here in the Finger Lakes this weekend. Was running 190-200 degrees.

108's looking good Lew.:beerchug:
2182 looks great Steve.:beerchug: I cut the lawn with the dual stick again today.:beerchug: Got pictures for you today Lew.:biggrin2: https://s26.postimg.org/rhdkmdstl/1650-16-17_1.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/e1qjwxkbt/1650-16-17_2.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/e30hqcm5l/1650-16-17_3.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/712k45ijt/1650-16-17_5.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/6ctpl7ju1/1650-16-17_7.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/3wwhl3r55/1650-16-17_6.jpg |

Great pics guys! I left the Cubs in the stall but pulled the Weber out for a 8 hour smoke of a 4# Chuck roast. I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather BBQ the grass-eaters! :beerchug::beer2:
|
I do not see any smoke...

Bet Travis forgot that part...:biggrin2:  Lawn, and mower look good Lew.:beerchug: Is that there deck one of their first "high vacuum" decks? Not being funny, just thinking it is/was. Cause I had one similar on a LT, and that thing would plug up with grass just thinking about cutting... But we have LOTS of other stuff growing besides grass that just make them plug up.:bigthink: |
Changed the Hydro Fluid and Filter, new Glo-Plugs, Engine Oil & Filter
|
You all with your Supers are making me want to dig mine out and fix it up! I've been getting good use from my 1811 mowing new grass at home. Got a JD 400 now too, great tractor but I need to figure out deck adjustments. One big problem in the way of it being a great mowing tractor though. My 1872 can turn three times as sharp as that green thing!
|
1572 Rear End
I managed to get some garage time and changed the axle seals, cleaned and replaced the rear cover with a new gasket, and changed the trunion springs. Today I will be replacing the 'cork' between the Hydro and Rear Diff.
I also went to change the PTO switch as it doesn't stay engaged with one of the ones I have lying around, but after getting the old PTO switch removed from the dash I see the 1572 uses a different Switch from my 1650's :-( |
http://www.ihcubcadet.com/cgi-bin/di...s.pl?pg=topics
Look at the Wiring Diagrams between the two tractors. My guess is the safety switching within the switch is a bit different Things like ' with PTO switch on, can't start tractor. and Seat switch not active then PTO can't be engaged. etc. When I made an entire new harness for my 782, I bypassed the safety switching that ran threw that switch and just have a single pole single throw switch to power the front pto. Look at the two wiring diagrams, maybe you can make the switch you have work . |
Tony, I will take a look at the 2 wiring diagrams. I have a couple of good PTO switches, don’t feel like spending $40 unnecessarily.
|
If I remember correctly. There are two sources that provide Power to the Engine Coil. The Seat switch ( when sitting on the seat) is one and the PTO switch (when switch is in the OFF position) is the other. The Coil is powered up by the PTO switch if you are not sitting on the seat But not using the Front PTO. If you are sitting on the seat then power goes to the coil that way so you can use the PTO with engine stalling. Hard to write so it is understandable..sorry.

I went to get the 1641 from the shed to move a trailer but had to spend a little time cleaning a rat/mouse nest up first. At least it wasn't in the flywheel cover.

I put the deck back on the 1211 and got the grass mowed, after that I turned my boy loose with the 108 and the lawn sweeper.

Enough is enough. Pulled the deck and mule drive off 2182. Not mowing again this year unless I use my Dad's 2072 sitting behind my shed!:biggrin2:
Never scraped my deck down this year. Mowed wet a few times in June. Caused some rust scaling. Knew better but my time is not my own anymore.... Scraped out a full five gallon pail full. Wire brushed the deck. Oil the crap out of it with used motor oil and stood it up in back of shed. D U N Done! |
