I'm working on different areas of the driveway to control the run-off at the top of the driveway so that the erosion down at the bottom doesn't become too bad. The Brinly Box Scraper worked well. I did notice the added weight of the box scraper (with cinder block) and the traction lock engaged, the steering was really dismal. I could hardly turn. I'll get a weight up front to help with with that.

Cool pic of the cub working! :beerchug:

Today, the lawn jockey's attention was on the lawn. Last weekend it was hauling 10 yards of loam in the #4. On deck, firewood cutting, hauling and stacking.

How do you like those tires? My new lawn isn't very flat and I was thinking about getting a set for the 782.

ccguy 07-08-2018 01:48 PM

Tim, after Lugs, next aggressive. I need them because I have a number of slopes that I have to navigate and I need tires that will bite and that won’t lose their grip. If you spin them however, your looking at a 4” hole quickly. They are fine on turf... just don’t spin’em. Also, they will deposit some debris on the deck (grass, dirt, small twigs , etc.) when just moving due to the tread pattern (trash gets caught in the tread pattern then gets tossed on the deck. I’m not concerned but it does happen.

Got the 1862 that I picked up a couple months ago washed and started taking it apart. This one is an organ donor. :beerchug:

Transaxle is out, engine will be next. Once I get everything out of it I'll list the parts for sale. :beerchug:

Mowed with the 2264 today and I was just about done when it shredded to PTO to deck belt. Well it's supposed to rain later so I had to go to the backup 1641 to finish the mission. Job done, got a new belt at TSC and just as I was putting the belt on it started to pour. :beerchug:

Nothing but blue sky 5 hours north. Your TSC stocks a B89? I have been to 3 around here, no go. They don't even have a slot. I found a $10 deal on epay and ordered 4. :beerchug:

I use a 5/8"X90 / B87K/5L 900K on my tractor with the 324 deck, it's a bit tight when it's brand new. Deck carriage is mounted in the forward holes on the mule drive.

This was me the other day with my 1641, except i made it about 10 feet. Nobody local had a belt either so i had to hang my head in shame and use the lt1045. So today I pulled the deck off and used the 1641 to rip some trenches for my inground dog fence.

Driveway work with the 1250

A few weeks ago here on the side of Great North Mountain west of Winchester Va, they got almost 5 inches of rain in less than an hour. Shawneeland fixed the ends in the right of way for my aunt. Me and the 1250 and my 2 blades have been working on the rest with a small pile of gravel my uncle left here. I think he would be happy with how it looks now. I have one more day and it should look like a professional did it with much bigger equipment. :beerchug:

Thank you Todd! Now that the float button is fixed, I have mastered using my right foot to raise and lower the back blade. I think I like this better than the hydro lift.:beerchug:

Had the 1641 with the Sickle bar out yesterday cutting brush, that thing is a riot. :beerchug:

After I finished my mowing today, I hooked the trailer up to the 1450, loaded up a few tools and headed down to the pasture.

It was a good way to end a long day.:beerchug:

Well the TSC belt lasted about 1-1/2 hour before it turned upside down in the pulleys and started to smoke. Got a Gates belt from NAPA and mowed for a couple hours, so far so good. Never had a problem with TSC belts before, OH Well. :bigthink:

Weird wild stuff, You think it had a defect? Your lucky to have automotive parts place near you that have long v belts. Here they have just about done away with them except for the popular numbers still being used.

I had to order the belt but they had it the next morning. My guess is that it was a bad belt because the PTO and mower only have about 50 hours on them, everything spins nice and free. Not like I don't know what I'm doing. :bigthink:

Exactly why I went with the defect thought. I tried a belt from a local machinery place here. "Only thing I could get same day" the size was correct but it more like a V cog belt meant for pretty straight line use. Burned it up pretty quick. Have only purchased kevlar since.

I had added a 3 point lift to my 1811 a few years ago. Never used it till today. Works great for pulling t-post from my garden.

I didn't really feel like dragging this wagon with a few hundred lbs of parts in it by hand so I fired up the 1050.

Sam Mac 08-07-2018 06:25 PM

Mowed with the 2264 till it started to rain. Decided to drag out the 1641 with the Haban sickle bar on it to cut some brush along the ditch where my pond drains, well that went bad because I got the 1641 stuck in the mud. Walk back to the shop and get the Kubota BX and drag the 1641 out of the mud, park the BX take the 1641 back to the shop and wash the mud off it. Walk back and get the BX bring it back to the shop and put it away. Well now the sun is out so get the 2264 back out and finish the mowing and then scrape the wet grass out from under the deck, put everything away and pour a cocktail and hit the pool. I'm done. :beerchug:
