Thanks, Iv'e been working on it off and on over the summer. Fixed the broken and stripped out rear end and added axle braces, put a 2000 series drive shaft in (thanks for the write up Sam Mac), put together a shaft and clutch for the rear pto (it had the cat 0 hitch, but was missing everything for the PTO except the splined coupler. Oh and sanded the fenders and gave them some cub cadet paint from a spray can.

Now I need to figure out whats wrong with the power steering. And put the turbo on. Then I will call it finished and use it.

Be careful using a 2000 series shaft in a diesel. We have found out the hard way that the rubber engine mounts allow too much for and aft movement and the shaft comes out of the coupling I'd recommend that you convert it to the CV style.

The master of Sam has bequeath much information and heed his input.

Thanks! I like the white also. We usually paint them yellow, but will keep these white.

Looks good Allen.:beerchug: What were you fixin to do, or did.:bigthink:

ACecil 10-31-2018 12:32 PM

Thanks Todd! Some things are in the works for the 1512. Having the front bumper modded, so it will mount to the 1512. Getting an a-frame adapter, then the V61's and rear ags will come. Hope you've been well, it's been awhile! :beerchug:

What kind of bumper are you adding Allen? Looking forward to seeing it!

ACecil 11-02-2018 12:31 PM

Jay, it's the same bumper I had on the 1872, a few years ago. It won't bolt to the 1512, like it did on the 1872. I thought the very front holes on the frame were the same. They aren't threaded on the 1512, like they were on the 1872. There will definitely be pics, when I get it back! :beerchug:

Sam Mac 11-02-2018 12:59 PM

Allen it should be easy to just put a bolt through the bumper and frame and put a nut on the back side.:beerchug:

ACecil 11-02-2018 01:08 PM

Thought of that also, Sam. We tried, but the front ports get in the way on the one side. Vince is making me a new mount for the bumper.

Mowed the weeds first time the Cub has been used in vengeance since November 2017
We are suffering a major drought here in the Eastern states of Oz
I had a good quarter inch of dust all over when I had finished

Then I collapsed the bag, rotated the chute 90 degrees, and used the blower to blow the leaves off the lane and back into the woods.

Yup, I hopped off while it was running and took this picture and then jumped back on. Not easy to do when you're 72.:beerchug:

Haha! When I first saw the picture 'I thought', cool, he sucked them up and blew them in a bag - now he's sucking em out of the bag and blowing em in the woods. :::::: then I read your post

Yesterday, I finished mowing and leaf detail for this season. Today I have 3" of snow covering all evidence of a job well done.

Be safe out there! btw, is that a double set of weights on your 1650?

jbrewer 11-09-2018 06:51 PM

Great action shot TT!

New wheel weights and chains on Super #2

I put the 54" snow plow on 1872 #2 for snow relocation this Winter. This Super has 3 pt. and PTO so no convenient way to add weight w/o raising and lowering a weight box each time I raise or lower the snow blade. I decided to look for some wheel weights to add so that I reduce the tire spin and not ware out the new 2 link chains on my cement drive. It was rather depressing to see the steel weights (~29 pounds each) going for $150. plus and adding shipping on top of that. I spotted these MTD 50 pound weights on Amazon and free shipping at $126. plus tax to add a 100 pounds to the rear.

https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Parts...+wheel+weights

They fit up real tight on the Super wheels and not seated all the way into the wheel recess so the included threaded rod was too short for mounting. I used 10" carriage bolts to do the job - just right! Carriage bolt heads had to be ground down on one quadrant so they would clear the brake disk. Slip in the box said they are for 23" X 12". I'm real pleased with the way it turned out but surprised that mounting the weights was more involved than putting on the new chains today. A week ago I plowed 4" of the white stuff but it wasn't without a lot of tire spin, now I'm ready for snow.

ACecil 12-03-2018 11:50 AM

Good work! I need to get the 1512 and sweeper out, if it doesn't rain this weekend.
