Yesterday I had a tree that had been damaged in a tornado in 2006 cut down and removed. I also had them grind the stump out. The workers back filled the hole where they ground the stump out with the wood chips and dirt kicked up by the stump grinder.
http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...ractor/007.jpg http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...ractor/012.jpg Today I got my 1811 out and used its weight to compact the wood chips and dirt down into the hole. The weighted rear wheels really helped with that task. Later I tried to start my truck and found out I had not let it run long enough the other day when I jumped it after it had sat for a month. Last time I was thinking of using my 1811 to pull it out of the garage but ended up having my brother help me push it cause I was afraid to damage the tractor. I decided the heck with it today and hooked a tow strap between my truck and tractor. Heck the 1811 pulled the truck out like it was not even there. I didnt even feel any stain on my tractors part. I was really impressed. Then it traded parking spots in the garage with the Scag and is going to stay stabled until next winter unless I can find more excuses to play with it. |
Cool pics! Glad you had fun with your 1811.

Well I removed the center spindle from the deck, changed the oil, and changed the Hytran and filter. In the morning I go to CC and get new bearings, and a belt for the deck, then off to MOW!!!

I finally got the custom 982D decals in and put on.

You only have one wheel weight.
|
Amigatec-
It's likely he's got them on one side intentionally...that's the land side when pulling a plow, and it's the side that needs the most weight. I thought the deck bearings you need would be insanely expensive from CC, but I just looked and they're $36 for the pair. That's pretty good. |
Matt is correct. There's two weights on the left side for the plow day tomorrow. Another plower is bringing some more incase I need them since this is the first time plowing with this tractor and I haven't had a chance to have the tires filled with rimguard. Hopefully my 220lb big butt will help it.

I hope this will fix it. The center spindle is the one that never gets greased, it's underneath and hard to get to. |
Wow...$10 is better yet.
Yeah, not only is the center spindle harder to grease, it also has the most side load on it, so it also needs greasing the most. It should have a 45-degree angled grease fitting on it to make it easier to grease. |
Got the mower deck spindle back in and the correct belt on it, and after I adjusted the deck height, it works now.
Man what a mowing machine this thing is!!! NOTE: I am going to have to tighten up the Hydro lever it wants to speed up on me. |

I am going to buy a hose for my greasegun so I can reach around corners better. |
Picked up a rear blade the other nite off of Craigslist.
Got it put together and on the the 149. Today was my first chance to try it out. This is a really great attachment. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...e4-7-10001.jpg Unpacking. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...e4-7-10005.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...4-10-10001.jpg Grading my drive. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...4-10-10003.jpg It really works nice. |
Great pics, Diz! You look like you were having a ball.

Nice find Diz! Makes me wish I had a sleeve hitch.
Lets see what I did today... well, started out fixing a hydro leak on my 1211...changed every gasket and seal on the tranny, as well as tearing the pump apart, and changing the infamous trunnion seal, as well as the other seals on the pump....cleaned it all up, and gave the tranny a fresh coat of paint, then moved on to painting all 4 rims as well as the mule drive for my 50" deck....hopefully get the deck cleaned and painted tomorrow. One thing I learned is that actually following the proper torque specs when reassembling the pump and tranny yields no leaks. |
Great job, Jeff! Your 1211 looks great. :beerchug:

Your 1211 is looking good TEET
|
Thanks fellas:beer2:
I'm contemplating just tering the whole thing down and painting her up, but I need to find some better rear fenders first.:bash2: Jeff (teet) |
I wouldn't bother repainting anything other than your new rear fenders when you get them. They're only original once, and that one looks great.

Well I was able to use the 129 to pull the 149 around to the back under the shade tree. Now I can work on it.
One good thing about a hydro, you don't have to be in the seat to operate it. I walked along beside and guided it, and then I went back to steer the other one. It took a couple dozen trips back and forth but I got it. Also picked up the Electric Lift unit today, but it's for a NF, so i will be building a bracket for it. |

Nice find too, its getting harder to find a decent electric lift these days. |

Well, I cleaned up the 50" deck for my 1211 today, as well as the mule, and sub frame. Gave them both a good sand blast, then a fresh coat of paint. Used ez-slide on the underside of the deck as well. Wish I had some before pics to show how much better they look now...
I also got the 73 out for the first time this year for a little ride around the back field. Its amazing how well she started after sitting since October! I think I'll use the 127 this week to level out the yard a little, as she's the only one with ags and the front blade still mounted.. Jeff (teet) |
Did some plowing yesterday at the local plow day. The 982D did a good job. I was busy with the steering wheel though. I think the steering cylinder is bad.

I finally broke down and bought a set of easy steer tri-ribs for the 124.
I had just put new tires on the front last fall...but these tires and wheels look so much cooler! :biggrin2.gif: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...4_tri_ribs.jpg |

Decided to mow 1 last time before the Danville plow days in Danville Pa. This thing just eats the grass...lol The other day the grass was 10+ inches and there were alot of stem things that I mowed over. Just wanted to make the lot nicer...
