The idea that CADplans posted is probably your best option; for the others to work without much risk of breaking the rockshaft, you need at least a 3/4" shaft, if not 1". You still might anyway.
I would not put Cat 1 ball ends on it just to be able to use a drawbar...I have a drawbar for mine, and I have never used it. An A-frame is far more useful. |
for your weld in ball ends tisco tractor parts i think it is online has them with hole for 5/8" pin same as stock 3 point for cubs for $4 a piece, thats where i got mine. As far as you drawbars concerned i just made my A-frame off of a drawbar from farm and fleet so you get the best of both worlds. Then for sleeve hitch attachments or a reciever hitch you can make attachments that just bolt onto the drawbar.

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days..... Waiting for parts to come. I ordered the 4 tab with brackets from xtreme for his free shipping black friday event. I'm going to be using that for the mower lift arm mounts. I also ordered a bunch of parts from beulgarts tractor parts. Top link, weld on lift balls, and a bunch of pins...... All for $50 shipped!!! I could even get a top link at tractor supply less then $40!
I also ordered new light bulbs and new deestone 400x8 tri ribs for the front axle..... So stay tuned it should be done this weekend!!!!!! |
ok so i didnt get much accomplished today, still waiting on the bracket to come from xtreme..... ordered it last sunday.... dont know where it is....
anyway i got the upper lift arms done today, just waiting for the lower bracket to get here so i can weld them in position...... http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...1203-00222.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...1203-00224.jpg |
Looks great so far!!
If you want some busy work to pass the time while waiting, you could radius the ends of those unpainted bars, the photos always look better with a radius. |
Looking good!

yes they will be radiused on the outside, i have to on the lift arms cause they wont let the heim rotate.
|
ok got the rockshaft pretty much done, just waiting for the cylinder to show up so i can make the brackets for that and attach it.
the lower brackets finally showed up from xtreme, but not really what i wanted, i thought the inner tabs were welded on but oh well. so i got the holes drill for the lower lift arms. still contemplating on adding another point that bolts to the axle tubes but it seem really freakin sturdy now. so the only things i have to do yet is bend the lower lift arms, weld on the the ball ends, make the bracket for the top link arm, and then 2 arms to connect the upper and lower lift arms. i also want to either make brackets or do something so i can lock the lift arms up so i can hang my weight box over the winter till i get the hydraulic pump and all the hoses etc etc...... but so far it is turning out awesome and looks great!!!! what do you guys think? http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...1210-00227.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...1210-00228.jpg |
Its looking nice, cant wait to see it finished!
