Today I got the engine out, and examined my electrical issue. The old harness has been cut in many places, and the one he bought on Ebay is a home-made, cobbed up, wiry mess! :biggrin2:

So, I worked on getting the bad out...And have decided to make a temporary "redneck wiring harness". I'm going to run electric from the battery to a push button, then to the starter. That will take care of my starting situation. Then, I'm going to run another wire from the battery, to a switch, to the coil. That will take care of my spark. :beerchug:

I will probably run it like this for awhile. When I paint it..I can do it the proper way.

ok...where do you people find these great deals?

Conner you took the engine out the hard way. When you put it back in, I would recommend bolting the engine to the plate and then bolting the plate to the frame. Also be sure that you have the spacers between the plate and the engine installed.

Well, you see...It was already unbolted, and was just sitting on the plate. So I just lifted it out. :biggrin2:

What are these spacers like? I never saw any while taking it out..but it seemed lined up with the shaft... :bigthink:

Anyone have pictures of these spacers? I do not see any here..But the engine seemed to be aligned with the shaft ok.

They are 0.469" long (IIRC) with a 5/16" ID and perhaps a 5/8" OD. There's one under each mounting bolt, and the engine is not properly aligned without them.

You're off to a great start, buddy!

So, do they go under the plate? Or between the engine and the plate?

Thanks, Allen! :beerchug:

The spacers go between the plate and the engine. In other words, the spacers sit on top of the plate, then you set the engine on top of the spacers.

I've checked...I defiantly don't have the spacers. Looks like I'm just going to take the dimensions to the hardware store and pick 4 up. :beerchug:
