Sorry about that family vehicle ... but not much lives under the whirl wind of a mower deck ... let us know how it goes.

B.

I absolutely will do! I'm planning a grocery store run tomorrow night and will snatch the cheapest leftover Christmas candle they've got for my trial! :)

About the ouch, it's good, B. ;) She's still with the original owner at present and I've made it clear that powder coating, at my expense, is the only way to go next-time around. ;) Well... That sorta goes on all accounts where that truck is concerned... The only thing that has stood the test of time is the stainless exhaust and Borla mufflers that I just one day up and drove 40 miles to have put on at my expense! Dad is a little more of a believer in his little man now that I'm 34 (this week!!) and mildly accomplished (engineering school, MANY intensive mechanical projects, etc).

If only I had known that it was only going to take $100k of projects and education to get the old man to trust me I would have started when I was 10!!! :)

Got my $3 Walmart candle tonight! I think Sunday there might be enough dry weather to run my test! :)

How did the melt down go, & were your results expected, if not, when ready for repaint enjoy removing all wax build up before prime & paint!:American Flag 1::bigthink:

the wax will melt after the sun heats up the deck if it melts at that low of a temp, prime it, paint it, and after a week of letting paint fully cure spray with non stick cooking spray, we use it on or full size equipment and last about a full season. but you can just spray with garden hose and reaplie as needed. and cheap if you get the wally brand

Didn't we tell him that already ! Lol:bigthink:

Nay sayers and fun haters, all of ya! BAH!! :)

I didn't get around to trying it yet and probably won't this weekend either.

Honestly, I'm concerned that the temp in my shed will exceed the melting temperature of the wax. Oh well.. I'm still gonna try it out.

As far as stripping it off later, I have a strange feeling that my MAP gas torch will make quick work of that job. Or a black tarp over the top and a week in the August Indiana sun.

I had mine powder coated. it is slick but still holds onto a lot of grass.

I broke my vow to not clean a deck, I had to replace the belt.

I am good to go for another 25 years!! :bigthink:

Does that thing have enough idlers and rollers, or what!!??

It don't look bad, for a 24 year old deck. :biggrin2:

Man you had enough green buildup under there to build a JD tractor.
