My wife (of 37 yrs.) never made me sell anything but we have to agree on larger purchases where we use our joint money. She always said I could buy anything that I could pay for and I've agreed on the same for something she wants. Neither one of us goes crazy on buying stuff however. I bought an 8N at a sale without telling her I might, but it was paid for with bonus money I got from work one year, she just gave me that look all you married gentlemen know so well. I know she's glad I got it since it's our field mowing, driveway gravel and snow scraping machine, leaving the 9N to stay attached to the manure spreader. She did ask that I not sell the old Ford Expedition like I wanted to do, she said we should keep it as a back up vehicle and she likes the way it drives. Of course, right after that it broke down and has been sitting waiting attention (starter or just a selenoid, don't know which it is).
I really want to get a more modern compact tractor with a loader but same story, "pay off the car and you can get one" she says (one year to go on that loan!). Have my 86 to get running too and that needs some parts.
