The 982 sits higher than the standard-frame GTs. The tiller won't go all the way down, so you'd have to come up with some way to mount it lower that isn't going to throw off the belt alignment.
Never thought of that or done a side by side comparison , but how does a SGT sit higher ?? Do you mean the tractor itself sits higher or the tiller gearbox/hitch sets higher ??
All of the tires are taller, so the SGTs have more ground clearance.

:Explode::bash2: So what your saying is .... I can't put a tiller at all on my 982?? Anyone have some suggestions? If I can't put a tiller on it, I guess I am going to have to look for a cultivator or something??
2 cents..
I'd be looking for an off brand, gas powered tiller..would be less headaches with operation..just fab up a bracket to mount to the 3 point on the tractor
Hmmmmm.....any suggestions on a supplier/manufacturer of a gas type tiller Hawg?
I am kinda wondering if I did find a 2B tiller I could perhaps have a longer arm for the upper and lower hitch to allow the tiller to go down further due to the taller tires? Not sure...will have to do some experimenting??:bigthink: |
All the tillers I've seen are used...will keep an eye out, just in case..maybe possible to lengthen the arms...or longer pin??..my #2 tiller is in storage up north..might be a while until the snow melts to access..shoot me an email Mountain..lost all mine:Explode:
