They make "knock out plugs" in a variety of sizes and finishes.

I have one. Came in the "169" I just bought.
Name your own price and it's yours.
Don't know if it works.

Oh but the graphic is not the same as what Lew posted.

Nor are the new ones that JMech posted.

And if the wires do not have the same strand count, points get deducted for that too.

I'll pass. Thank you anyway. I'm probably going to go with a plug.

I do smoke, but since I'm having a very hard time breathing lately and coughing so much, I'm quitting. I'd rather breathe easier.

Good luck and I hope you are successful with your quitting, I need to quit also but as so many smokers know its not something thats walked away from easily.:beerchug:

amen to that...I don't smoke but I chew and I have found the less things to remind me of it the better. So having a lighter would be a constant reminder. I have been thinking about removing the lighter on mine and using that hole for a switch to control Auxillary lights when I am plowing.

Hey guys..... the parts book shows the hole is for a lighter.
But it is also where the switch for the electric lift went. What would you do if you wanted both? :bigthink:

That is so true. I too smoke, and should quit. But honestly, I just don't want to! I actually like to smoke.....

FWIW, in the links I posted. The first link, the lighter in the center, top row, is the only style lighter I have ever seen on IH equipment. There may have been another one they used on older stuff, but I recently saw an older tractor that still had the lighter and it was that one.

HoundDog 08-27-2014 01:15 PM

Maybe use the headlight switch hole if you wanted both and didn't have lights?
Looks like I'll be ordering a cig lighter.

I too, enjoy smoking. But, I just can't breathe. If I'm laughing at something, boy it hurts bad and I have to stop laughing. If I talk for too long, my chest hurts and my voice changes and I get very short of breath. I'm not having much luck right now, but for the most part, I have one after I eat, which as you know is the most satisfying.

Sounds to me like we need a stop smoking thread...
