There was some discussion earlier in this thread about the substitute upper radiator hose, Kubota part# K7311-85150, that needs to be modified. I took my hose back off and snapped a couple of pics so everyone can understand what needs to be done.

After stripping the frame to bare bones, I found I have an issue with the implement lift. In the picture you see the cross shaft in the frame and two arms, one offset and the other J shaped. This is the attachment point for the rod end of the lift cylinder. My question is the the arm that is J shaped appears to have a place where it can be bolted to the other arm, and there also is a roll pin hole in the J arm but it is seized to the shaft. Should it be free to rotate on the shaft, be bolted together or pinned? I've applied a little heat and have managed to move the J arm a little, but it will need to be pressed apart to get it to move freely if it is supposed to.

OK - now what!

Yes, it should rotate independent. It is the "float". A bolt can be installed to give it down pressure, although, I'm not sure why anyone would want to, and the rarely do, as you find that the cylinder is strong enough to tear things up or bend them. They are no fun to free when they are stuck.
Go buy some Kroil and let it do it's thing. Still may not be able to free it up. Good luck. |
BugJunkie - my wiring harness is in exceptionally good shape except for a hacked area bypassing the safety circuits of the PTO switch. Using a wiring diagram I found on-line, I cut out the cobbed up sections, and soldered in new wires of the proper gauge and color. It's a straight forward repair and pretty simple circuits. I think I would repair your harness if it isn't totally destroyed.
