Thanks for all the great pics and videos guys!

I'm SO envious! We're supposed to get upwards of a foot of snow this week in my area (about 15 mi SW of Mt St Helens) and I can't do anything about it!!

My driveway is about 1/4 mi long and steep. I don't know the % of grade but its about 125 ft of altitude gain over that distance.

After looking at all the seat time you guys are getting, I'm really champing at the bit!

Here's another vid of my Original...

Thanks Diz and hilltop:beerchug:. I hope you get dumped on hilltop, would love to see some pics of ya movin some snow around!!

Here's another:BlahBlah: link for another vid I made tonight on the Original. I plowed first with the O' then broke out the 71. It's actually 2 parts cause I messed up and ran out of memory on camera:beer2:

Thanks Jude - Great vids again!

Here's a couple of shots of my driveway from '08. By the end of the storm we had record snow (3' on the ground with 4' - 6' foot drifts). It was awesome up here but our road assoc. had to hire in a dozer to clear off our 1.5 mi of private road. He then came up driveways for $50.00 a pop. Given that I didn't have any way of moving snow, it was a good deal.

Thanks!
Neil

I guess steep is a relative term, I'm not sure I would walk down that thing in the snow!! Can you get down in a truck and not end up in the neighbors yard?

sleeper 01-10-2011 05:34 PM

got a few pics

here are a few pic of cleaning up the yard a lil ....more to come i am sure ...lol

Hey Red,

It can get a little sporty . . . I've got a 3/4t 4wd Suburban that goes up and down it pretty good - the challenge is going up . . . I don't have alot of running start from the bottom but so far I've only failed to get up it once and that was with no chains. Here's a pic at the bottom of the hill.

I'm looking forward to outfitting the 104 for snow and seeing how it does.

Neil

We have had lots of snow, but also lots of wind, so not much seat time this year!

The pick is last years snow......kind of missing that time this year.....

ACecil 01-10-2011 11:15 PM

Great pics, guys! :beerchug:

hilltop 01-11-2011 12:15 PM

Thanks Bill!

I've owned all sorts o' rigs - Chevy, Ford, Dodge and a few imports - loved them all but this Suburban is my all out favorite! It just suits me and my lifestyle to a T. I'm a fairly big guy (6'2" @ 230lbs) and being able to climb in without feeling like I'm putting on a shoe that's too tight is a real pleasure. It gives me all of the advantages of a truck with all the benefits of car.

I wish I had pics of my Cub doing it's thing to share with you guys but I think that'll have to be next year - Unless I run across a blade or blower, moving through snow this year is gonna be with just the Suburban.

Neil

When I lived out west, everyone called there truck or car a "Rig" ...thats funny. So even more so when I here it still! A good popular rig out west it a Subaru...now that is a rig as well!:biggrin2.gif:

LOL - JC! It's a generational thing for me - my dad was a log truck driver in his early years so everything including his riding mowers were "rigs". Subaru's are great, I've got a couple "rigged" to the back of the suburban for extra weight:biggrin2.gif:

It's all relative I guess, out here we get a bit of a chuckle when folks back East call something under 6000' a mountain!

Great shots GitRDone - Your pup looks like he's scootin' his boot to clear your line!

Cleared 3 driveways today. I'll probably redo them in the morning since we're still getting a little snow.

7ft blade at work.

hilltop 01-11-2011 10:52 PM

NICE Diesel!!

How quick can you make it to my house?

Iowa Farmboy 01-11-2011 11:32 PM

Diesel

yep we are going to need to see a video of that 7 ft'r at work. I would imagine when winging it off to the side the front pushes and straight away would be spinning a lot.

ACecil 01-11-2011 11:36 PM

Great action pics, guys! :beerchug:

Love the 7 ft blade, Diesel!

Right smack-dab between Libby and Kalisspell, MT on rt.2 is where I was at. The 4wd Sub's were great on gas and to drive up the very narrow logging roads scouting timber and huckelberries. You know gas stations are far and few between in my parts...where driving that 454 GMC is gonna get you in the pocket! GREAT PICTURES GUYS! WOW! Look at that 7ft. blade! How has that been pushing? A few pounds of weight on the Cub Cadet for sure! Thanks, John

This snow was light, so I had no problem going straight. You can see my tracks and my windrow. I pretty much just put it in neutral to stop and take the picture. With wet snow or drifted snow, I have a hard time windrow it off to the side since it will suck me in. In those cases, I just pudh straight forward in those cases. I will see about a video some time, most snows come during the week, so it is a time crunch.

TEET 01-12-2011 10:44 AM

Heres a short video I made this morning....sorry about the poor quality, it was taken with my digital camera on a step stool in the garage...lol

Almost tripped the blade a couple times on the cement pad right in front of the garage.....you would think I would have learned where it was by now :)

Last week it was "Big storm on it's way! . . . 8 - 12" of snow, possibly more!"
What we got . . . 1/8" of freezing rain . . . 51 degrees by this afternoon. So here' a pic of my 104 in our sad little weather show.

@ JohnC - I hear ya on the mileage thing, luckily mine has the 350 in it so I get 10 mpg instead of 8 mpg. :biggrin2.gif: I've got a great little Toyo wagon that gets 30 -- The nearest town is 32 mi round trip so that really helps the 'ol budget!

@CC100 - Nice 104! I notice you've just got turfs and no chains or weights, how does it do? Mine is set up the same way and even with my 230 lbs sitting on it, I just spin 'em in the slightest snow.

Nice setup 127Runner!

My wife missed the real action earlier today, but here's a couple cleaning up the mess the Township Plow left at the end of the driveway. In order to get more seat time, I also clean most of the neighbors, too.

Nice Pics!!

Well, we got about 8-10" of the white stuff:biggrin2.gif:. I made a couple vids, one on the 71 and one of the Original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuGeWys7TgA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHoY6_RFDEM
I went back out a little later with the 71 and was working her pretty hard and I blew the master link on the the auger chain:bigeyes:. Chain came off and got lodged in the auger:angry:. I got the chain out and it looks ok, just need a new master link, I might have over tightned the chain when I reset the yokes this evening:bigthink:
