Happy Day Today!
Cut the grass with the 1650, put the front blade on & leveled out the floor in horse stalls & main isle. I've got gravel coming tomorrow so the blade is still on.
Browsing around craigslist I found a 1967 model 123. Went to look at it....WOW! All origional paint, 42" deck with new blades, rebuilt Kohler, decals & owners manual all in great shape for $400.00 I loaded it up and brought it home. I spent the rest of the day tinkering with it, grease here & there, oil changed etc and trying to figure out how to get the front mount PTO to work right. That is the only problem I've found. It stays engaged full time! Back to the manuals & internet to figure it out. Then I found & joined this forum. Yep, good day all around. I'll post pictures tomorrow, I never thought about taking any while the sun was out. |
". when i looked at it i saw he had the motor in backwerds . "
I bet it would be scary going backwards in third gear. You better put some mirrors on it. |

Well today was the first time I have actually used my 1200 for any work. Got home early and decided to mount the plow and put the gravel back in the drive. Worked great, but you know I think I might have to just go back and work on it some more...Had a ball doing it. Think I want a Hydro though hand is a bit sore from raising, and lowering, and feathering the darn thing... But all smiles and really happy with the way the 1200 ran.

Great job, It's great working with Cub Cadets! :beerchug:

went on a cub run to fleet farm, got some headlights, airfilters, washer fluid for tires, and a bunch of other odds and ends for my cubs. got my 100 goin this weekend. put on the sleeve hitch and 6-12 ags and put the brinly blade on her. at first i didnt like the gear drives but this one with the creeper makes it alot easier to work with. also noticed the hydro lift is a little more touchy then a wide frame hydro lift. also plowed the neighbors garden with the 1650. did a awesome job. overall a very fun cub weekend

Good lookin ol' 100 !!
It looks like something that ACecil would like to have!!! :biggrin2.gif: |
Great pics, Nick! Your 100 and the blade did a nice job. :beerchug:
CBH: You know me too well...LOL. |
i would like to get fenders and make a stack for it actually. i'll skip on the duals, i dont want to be a copier haha
|
Just finished re-building the deck hanger's worn parts, and welded in new pins on the mule drive tonight. If starting yourself on fire counts, I did that too :bash2:
If it happens to warm up today I should be able to get them shot and ready to try and mow with her for the first time Friday.. |
I had a very productive day today with all of my projects. 1st I went to my Cub parts supplier guy nd picked up a gallon of Hytran oil as well as a set of cultivators for my David Bradley. Got them for 20 bucks. He also picked me up a sleeve hitch adapter so I could give him his back. Not bad for $50 bucks.
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...det/002-10.jpg I also started to make my DB a little more personal.I removed the original bolts on the transmission and replaced with new Stainless bolts. Then I stripped the 128 frame as well as 1200 frame that we had gotten cheap and kept the usable pieces from them. I also rebuilt the steering column and painted it that I am planning to use in my red tractor project. I also painted several more pieces of the DB tonight as well...Tomorrow, I plan to put the steering bearing conversion on my 1200 and maybe get the handlebars for the DB painted.. http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...det/001-12.jpg |

I decided to try to get my engine-donor 1250 running so I could put the engine in my 682 and then move the loader over to the 682. I took the carb off and cleaned it (I'll be posting a carb rebuild how-to shortly) and put in a battery. It cranks over and has nice spark, and a newly-rebuilt carb, so tomorrow I'll put it back together and see if it runs. And then pull the engine out and start prepping it for the 682...
Almost forgot...when I took the carb off, I saw that it was a #30. I then decided to look at the tag on the engine, and I discovered that somebody put a K321 in it. I guess I can use 2 more hp...:) |
matt your not gunna part out that 1250 are you. thats a nice looking rig.
|
Nah, it'll get either get sold as a roller, or I'll hang onto it and try to squeeze a CH18 V-twin into it...
|
Yea, I agree, it is still a good looking tractor.
|
I think you should sell the rear fenders off of it, but that's just me.
Thanks Cody |

You said you might part it out. I'll want new fenders once I start restoring, mine are all beat up.
It was ment to be a inside joke, I guess i'm the only one on the inside though. Cody |
I never said I was parting it...I said I'd try to sell it as a roller.

Well I went to CC today and bought a new seat, the old one holds to much water.
|
Today I took the Craftsman rear wheel weights off the 1872. I then took the wheels and tires to a local shop and had windshield washer fluid put in each one. We weighed one of them and it weighed in at 123 lbs! I mowed this afternoon and can't even make it spin now! Plenty of traction!!

Well today I put my "new to me" 50c deck on the 582SS and mowed my yard. It's the frist time in two years that I've mowed with one of my older cubs. We have a newer one that gets mowing duties.

I think the greens keeper has been slacking off! I'd lose my ball in the fairway on that "course"! :biggrin2.gif: Better break out the bright orange or yellow ball to play there. Get that Cub out to do the duties more AJ.
|
Here is the new seat, the old seat cushion just held to much water, the pan was very badly rusted.
Happiness is a new seat!!! |
CBH I just love loaded tires :biggrin2.gif:
ajgross 582 Looks good with the mower deck  Amigatec The seat looks GREAT! :beerchug: |

Great pics, guys! Thanks for sharing.

We re-staked my wife's tomatoes today. I used the 100 to haul the stakes to the garden.

Of course its always great to see the 100 and cart  |
Great to see you enjoying your tomatoes and 100...
|
All I did today was wipe the rain water out of my new seat.
|
Got time to finish the deck and get the 682 into mowing garb.. I love how quiet and the power this thing has in deep grass!!

Nice pics of the 682, Jay!

I started trying to figure out how to mount the power steering pump I'm going to use for hydraulics on my 100. It will be mounted on the right side behind the starter/gen. The problem I ran into is that the engine rotates the opposite direction of the pump so to make it work the pump needs to be mounted with the pulley towards the rear of the tractor. But then the back of the pump hits the S/G before the pulleys line up. The solution I came up with is to run a short jackshaft with pulleys on both ends of it. I'll have 1 belt running from the engine pulley at the back of the engine to a pulley on the jackshaft. The other end of the jackshaft will have a belt running from it to the pump. The trick will be making it so both belts can be tightened. It's a good thing I work in a machine shop so I can make all the necessary parts. I'll start a seperate thread once I start making some parts and get some pics. Wish me luck.

IHinIN cant wait to see the end result of your project. Best of luck!!:biggrin2.gif:

Good luck, Adam! Looking forward to your pics. :beerchug:
