Nice IH Cub Cadet model 72! What was the build date on this one? On my 72, the serial# is 239718, which was made in march or april of 1968. The 71 serial#184004 was made in jan. of 1967. Nice line up for sure! Thanks for the pictures!

Thanks John:beerchug: I'll have to get back to ya on the build date, the weight box is blocking the serial # tag. My 71 is 129251, Oct. 65'. Thanks again bud!

Well, got off the phone with Jason(JaysNJcub127) a little while ago and looks like I'll be making a trip to NJ to pick up a 70 as soon as I can:beer2:. Sweet mercy, I have all the 7hp's:Cub2::IH Trusted Hand:

I haven't seen those punchouts in ever! as a kid. i grew up near Burlington Northern tracks,(formerly CB&Q) they used to park "tub cars" of scrap on a siding. we used to snoop thru the cars. i was told that they were punchouts from a tank car builder when they riveted the plates together to build the tanks. sure made a slingshot lethal!!! great looking score!!! still looking for a weight box myself, and you found one with a sweet cubbie attached!!!

Nice samspops! They would make great sling shot ammo:biggrin2: Have to keep that in mind when I run out of bullets! Ya, couldn't believe it had an IH weight box on it too, this one will be dismantled and sent south for a little while:beer2:.

Jason, Was nice talkin to ya too!, it's all in the details!

I can really appreciate the two together! I had always wondered why they started angling the front casting down at the top (from the hinge point up) . Now , seeing it with headlights, I bet you get better visibility . None of mine have headlights factory installed, so I never saw that point of view... I also like the recently acquired 72 with the 104 style hood , grille, decals. Still don't like the steel dash tower. Funny seeing the styles mixed together.

O, I knew that! Forgot about where the IH weightbox was! Why are you taking it apart and sending it down south? Is it the weightbox itself, or the IH 72? Well, a nice pair of tractors,..ask me how I know! That is very cool that you will be getting Jay's IH 70! Cub Cadet is for keeps! O-yea, one more question,....where is the rockshaft on the IH 71? You have a early IH 71? Thats why I asked about the IH 71's tag#.
