I used T1-11 plywood with 8" centered grooves for siding. It went up fast and easy.
I want to put some windows in but I'll do it later. My objective was to get the building up by the end of Christmas break. I made it. I have a friend who is building a house the next town over. The city is making him put in opening windows on a wall that overlooks a valley. He wanted picture windows. The city's building code requires an opening window in every room. It's a great room so there really is no fire danger. Anyway, the short story is opening windows will go on the house then after the final inspection they will be replaced with a large picture window. I may wind up with those windows. Next weekend I'll take some pictures of the yard looking the other way at my derelict firewood pile. I built a woodshed last fall but we didn't get the wood stacked in time for the winter rains. There's some beautiful redwoods there. |
Paint and trim today.

I split some firewood while I was waiting for paint to dry so I didn't work as hard as I usually do on the shed. |
That'll make a great toy box:beerchug:
What are you using for a door? |
One-car roll-up door will eventually be installed

A super duper job,
:beerchug: Nik, |
Looks great Bob!! :beerchug:
I want one... Ok maybe 3, one for each pair of Cubs.:biggrin2: |
Really nice job on the shed, Bob. Any idea just how tall those trees are next to the shed? They are awesome!

I realized I didn't post the end of the story.

I have to put gutters on it and I'll call it complete. Jim, I used a theodolite and measured the tree next to the shed. After a little trigonometry I got 145'. Tall, but only 1/2 the height of some of the biog old-growth redwoods around here. You are looking at California Sequoia Sepervirens or Coastal Redwoods. It is blessing to live here with them. |
Looks great Bob, you did a nice job. They make you get a permit for that sized shed? Over here anything up to 200 sq ft, no permit.
|
Great end result Bob. Definately shows off your talent, wow. Also kudos to you for keeping it going with also having the k series on the wood splitter! Well done. One day I need to get out there and see those trees too, amazing.
