My 3 are successful
They learned early-on nothing is for free.
Work pays.
Education pays better.
1 Nurse
1 Engineer
1 EMT/Educator
I did my part, now they are doing theirs.
A pat on the back, hard enough, low enough, and often enough, never hurt any child.
Also, understanding & compassion applied @ the proper times helps.
We actually ate meals & talked to each other daily.
Well I'll stop there no sense :beatdeadhorse:

Its true, Ive dealt with the public. The 20 yr old kid I work with had no idea what Pearl Harbor day was and his dad is retired air force.

I did not see this but I know out of the five days a week I work one day of work is for taxes. Can't tolerate people in America who think they don't have to work or this govermet who supports illegal aliens to remain with out working and paying taxes. There are no slackers in my family.

As Shotgun mentioned, part of it is our fault. Not mine but someones. When I was 13 years old I worked all summer long custom bailing hay for a guy, and when I wasn't doing that I was working on our farm. And that I didn't get paid for because I ate food and had clothing on my back...
When I was 15 I/ME had saved enough money that I/ME earned working to buy my first car, and all this was taught to me by my parents. If you want something go out and earn it...
Cold day in hell my old man was going to buy me something I didn't need. His father did it to him, and my father did it to me. Made us work. There isn't a kid in a five mile radius around here that will help out a neighbor for nothing, and they sure aren't going to do it for chump change...
Why should they? Mommy and daddy will buy them their $200-$400 telephone and pay for their monthly plan. Kids got it made, then go off to school and still have mommy and daddy paying their way. The wife's three out of four kids put themselves through school, and the other one went into the service to learn.
They aren't touched in the head like the ones you see on the street talking out their backside and don't have a clue because someone fed them with a silver spoon. That's what pisses me off, parents don't want to teach the kid so they give them everything to keep the kids out of their hair. New phones, Ipads, video games...
NO self worth. If they had to buy all this stuff themselves to keep up with their "friend" they'd have more pride in it... Just my rambling--- way off the subject, but I guess I was going off Sam's comments... Sad but true.
It was talked about not knowing the pledge of allegiance, it's because the teachers aren't teaching OR aren't allowed to teach the kids what's important here in the good ole USA. Makes me sick to my stomach.
Ramble done, I will be expecting my dis missile papers tomorrow.:biggrin2:

That's actually quite low. Have you added in your state tax, sales tax, property taxes, car registration, fuel tax etc? :bash2:

Damn right. You had great parents like most of us on this site have had. But lots of people my age made horrible parents, just horrible. I am first generation born in Canada from my Dutch immigrant parents. My parents worked, had little but worked. They passed that on to me and my brother, who without bragging are very successful but work out butts off.

That is not true for so many. But this is. These parents are losers. Apparently it's pretty easy to have kids, pretty damn hard to raise them. But it's not the governments fault, it's our generation. Our neighbours, friends etc.

Can we blame the government for feeding them? Maybe. But I'd hate to have these shmucks breaking into my property to steal my stuff every time they want a hit of meth. Anyway, this ain't going to solved without involuntary sterilization! Just sayin.
