I got it running tonight. It started right up after installing the spare carb. It’s not the right one though as it’s from a series II and the governor linkage is different and I can’t find my other one. So I controlled the throttle with my finger. It sounds really good. No knocks or ticks.

Nice 782. I found a 782 the other year for my dad that had that style air filter, fairly certain his is a series II with provision for oil filter. Nice to hear it’s running

I found my other throttle linkage, and installed it. Fired it up and took it for a ride. It ran and sounded good, had a little smoke that smelled like burning dirt, I am thinking it's from the layer of dust/dirt stirred up from the fan in the tins and blow out through the fins. The hydro feels good and the lift works good. I'd say we got a keeper here. I plan to pick up an oil pressure tester just to confirm what engine I have because I'd like to know for absolute sure. I have a feeling it's swapped tins onto a series II.

I have two dozer blades now, and I'm planning to sell one. Probably the wider one I will sell because I can store the smaller one easier. I don't know yet which one I'll keep. Would they fit the 1912 or need a longer bracket under neath? Probably a longer lift arm too. If it fits I would keep the bigger one. Problem is in the winter the snow blower goes on the 1912 so I am not switching between blade and blower on that, it's too much work for me. :biggrin2:

That's a cool seat. Were those a factory option or aftermarket?

sorner 06-27-2019 10:21 AM

I'm sure it's after market. It has Cyclops adjustable sliders under it. I don't like it though, the seat is hard as a rock, and sits back way too far. The guy I got it from was a giant, and it was his fathers, so I don't know if he was also a giant. But when I sit on it I have to lean forward to reach the steering wheel and pedal, and I'm 6'2". I'll be putting it back to a stock seat which I have already, just haven't had a chance to do that.

That's too bad. I find the old cub seats to be very comfortable. Most of the aftermarket stuff is, as you said, way too stiff.

I scored a new old stock seat for my 126 off ebay a little while back. Worth every penny.

My girlfriend said something about a cub cadet intervention, but all I can think about is that seat I got on sale from Rural King and how nice it would look on your tractor.

Very nice red one !

Just remember, you can quit any time, right?
