Nickster what's the deal? So did you have power at the coil or didn't you? Cleaning the points won't make power appear at the coil. I'm imagining you messing with connections probably brought it back to life. Always remember buddy, measure twice, cut once, or is it, wax on wax off? At any rate you got it but we are still confused.

The test light was showing no power at the coil, then I took the wire off the points. Then there was power, I put it back , then I cleaned the points, I guess it was a connection problem.

The 149 wouldn't start again, installed new points and condenser and it starts then dies, I put a testlight on the coil wires... Nothing, is this a bad coil?
