Ditto. Don't forget the fan.

Thanks guys. The support has been awesome. I will get the driveshaft welded up tonight. Glad you mentioned the fan. I would assume it can be put on after but darn sure need to check before I weld it up. Should be getting to the point of just bolting things up. Do have shrouds to make, harness to tweak and some front end parts to fix.
Just to share that I don't always do shortcuts. Here is my Cutlass freshly painted (by me) and before it was rear ended/totaled. Was still putting on trim and interior.

Yep fan will fit over the 2000 series shaft end and it will bolt to the hub.

The Cutlass did look good.

So the fan I have is mounted different than what I have found in pics. Being a 3206? I guess... Does not have bolt holes. It was just sandwiched in grooves on the pump adapter side. I will have to come up with something different. Also should have made my adapter plate thicker. Needs to mount further forward to clear the filter.

J-Mech 03-11-2015 11:22 PM

I can't really help you on that, Tim. I looked up the 3206 and I don't see that it has a hydro cooling fan at all. :bigthink: PO mod perhaps? I think you need one off a 2K series like Sam said.

Definitely factory. I would like to find a metal one and adapt it. I need to call a vendor and get the 2k series fan.

btw - Addition to the list for hyd plumbing. On this valve body the ports are a #5 size. Stock was #4. The center came with a straight fitting. To clear the cub tank needs a 90 deg which requires a swivel to clear the outside ports. Local did not have so i managed with a 90 deg #5-1/8 NTP then adapter to JIC flare. Will add pictures. I also only ran 1/4 tubing as several places are only 1/4 anyway. 3/8 is not needed for flow to the cylinders.

Love this mod. I've been looking for a way to isolate my 3 point lift and this is great! Thanks for the posts. I already picked up a JD 3 spool valve and will get started on my own mod in the next few weeks.:beerchug:

Finally had a chance to see my garage today. Made a new throttle cable. Did a setup to bend the ends. Simple and quick. Uses a rounded chisel. Grabbed scrap.1/8 plate already tached together. Ground a slot for the wire to sit in.
Found I can't turn the battery as the fill tube is in the way.
Next need to study wiring to see what I have to change for this ch engine.

Stuck and need some help. Can't find anything on the wire colors for this ch20 out of a 3204 cc. Only have 1 - 5 pin plug with four wires. One is starter. Got that one. But still need to identify charge output, ign, and oil safety kill.
