A regular day
Today was a work day with the cubs... the 123 did mower duty (I need to get some new blades) and Dukes favorite multi colored O did sweeper duty. :-)
Hot out there today... but at least it was humid! John |
Looks good guys!
I mowed alittle with and the 48 inch mower I bought off of Mike but it is hard to mow with no throttle cable because i forgot to get one off him lol I'm happy with the mower i little it better than the little 38 inch. |
Jenn mowed with the 2130. I got some seat time on the 1872 using the lawn sweeper.

I got some parts primed for the 149. Frame, rear end, front axle, spindles, & front wheels.
Made some new bearing races for the 100's steering box and got it reassembled. I rebuilt the steering box in '08 with new bearings and races. The new races I bought were hardened whereas the original ones were not. The new ones were too hard and brittle and they crumbled to pieces making the steering bind. The set I made are thicker and made of 4140 PHT material which should outlast the rest of the tractor. |
Looks like it's going to be a nice day. Maybe, we can finally get the wheel weights on the 1872. :beerchug:

my girlfriends step dad called me to tell me the cub cadet 1200 i put together for him had just died in his yard and now has no compression...which made me start thinking something internally had broken. i got the tractor back to my place, tore the side panels off and noticed the air cleaner box was loose...so i paid no attention to it and took all the tin work, gas tank and firewall off. pulled the head. i cranked it over and the piston was moving which was a huge relief....but the intake valve was not. one of the screws that holds the air cleaner backing plate on got sucked into the engine and lodged in the intake valve. LUCKY it didn't get anywhere else...i took the carb off to get to the screw and the other bolt fell out of the carb. got the screw out and the valve seems to work fine. it has tons of compression still and fired right up with the vapors of gas left in the carb when i put it back on. before i bring it back to him, im going to locktite those bolts holding the air cleaner backing plate on. lesson learned.
