I actually got to mow today for the first time in 5 weeks. It was mainly because the weeds were so tall :bash2:. The drive shaft front coil pin sheared on me way down in the front yard. Had to push the 1711 up to the shop in the shade. Got the shaft removed and replaced both front and rear pins. Then of course I had to move the engine forward to get the shaft back in. My back was screaming in pain by the time I got done. At least I found out I will need a new drive shaft and front bushing later on. The front bushing is bad. The drive shaft was worn pretty good.

It was running crappy and since I had already replaced the spark plugs, cap & rotor, checked the compression, adjusted the valves, I figured the only other thing was the carb had to be bad so I bought a new one from Bota (lots cheaper than Cub) put that on and no big change. Pulled the plugs and found that one of the new Autolite plugs was NG. Got a new one and Holy Crap has this thing got power! You can keep your Kohlers and Vanguards. Went and mowed some stuff that had not been mowed in 3 weeks and it didn't even make it grunt. Happy Days are Here Again. :beerchug::biggrin2:

Glad you got your 2182 running good! :beerchug:

You bet these things have power!

I hear ya DX3, I mowed today too as the yard was looking like Arizona Anny's catus patch. Been dry here as well, 7-10 inches low of rainfall so far. I have a 1990 MTD White lt-14 that refuses to die that I mow with.
Glad you got seat time in, and repairs made. Those pins are expensive from the Cub Cadet dealer. I was soaked for 5 bucks each there.

I've had those days. But on the bright side when you get done fixing all the little PITA things you'll have a cool Cub. :beerchug:

I went over to Earl J's place again this morning and watched him fix his tractors. Then I watched him mow grass for a bit.

Also stopped and saw Scott Clevelands Mom and sister. Hes doing ok, but back in the hosp again, please keep scott in your prayers, he and his family need it.

Ok back to working on the 2072, carry on!

Looking good. I think I am beginning to like the supers. Might have to talk my wife into letting me get one of those beasts.
