Here's another link to a vid I made of the Original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H51n4Mhf1EQ
I couldn't get it to start today as I wanted to clean up the driveway, supposed to get some snow on Wednesday:biggrin2.gif:. I had spark so I figured it was fuel related. Decided to swap out carb\oil bath for another one I had that was rebuilt and she fired right up. I took the video after cleaning the driveway up. So I was plowing the drive and the front right wheel locked up totally! Got back to the shop and popped spindle and wheel off and pumped the crap out of it with the grease gun and finally got it break free:bigthink:. I guess she just dried up and siezed, all good now:beerchug:. Also I put the Grote headlight on yesterday as the cheapo's I bought didn't last. |
Glad you got some wrenching and seat time today Jude.

Glad you got the O going, Jude! :beerchug:

Here's what I've been up to lately.
I got my deck patched up and put some primer on it. I used Rustoleum primer that says it's good for light rust. I'll see how it works. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-11-11007.jpg Picked up a quart of Hurculiner to coat the bottom of the deck with. Hopefully it'll hold up. I first painted it with Rustoleum Rust Reformer. It's supposed to stop rust. The deck was badly pitted from wet grass stuck to the deck for the last 47 years. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-11-11004.jpg Bought a couple new gauge wheels for the deck. They're steel wheels with bearings. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-11-11006.jpg Painted the grill I made for the 126. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-11-11003.jpg Found an old Hurst T-handle I had from a previous truck so I threaded the shifter with a die and put it on the 126 for the heck of it. The knob on it was cracked anyway. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-11-11005.jpg Started on a 3-point lift for the 126. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-11-11002.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/a...1-11-11001.jpg |
Fantastic work, Adam!

We have been busy deer hunting and getting ready for maple syrup season.
I do have 6 hives of bees that were active during the warm spell at new years. The cubs are put away and resting. Can't wait to get into that 73 and get some engine work done. Hope to spend more time visiting with all the cub folks here as it get closer to spring. Love this site, and could spend just hours here soaking up the good cub stuff! Hope things in Cub land are good. Regards, Chris Casbohm |
Thanks Allen.

TEET Hoping for some more snow yet this weekend so i can really try it out :biggrin2.gif: johncub7172 Thank you :beerchug: |
Got in some more seat time today, and had the "boss" home to grab some pics. I put the new 42A chute on yesterday, I had to do the top red ...ran out of white..
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...n/101_0832.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...101_0837-1.jpg As you can see the pooch likes to attack the snow when it hits the ground. I am not too impressed with the EZ-Slide though, I have more clogs with it than bare paint for some reason. |
Great pics, Jay! Love the Tru Powers! I plan to have a set on the 128, when I get it.
|
Beautiful pictures JayBrd
That red Cub really stands out in all that snow :biggrin2.gif: |

:biggrin2.gif: Your in pretty rough shape man! Perhaps you should have a helmet on too..... foot and hands both operated on in the last month! :LMAO1: Just yank'n your chain.... 682 looks sweet! Those true powers look even better in snow. How do you like the front tri-ribs? They rough on grass in summer when mowing? Wasn't sure if I should put them on the 982 or V's? I have been looking at the tires while out BBQ'n this winter....they are getting pretty dri-rotted..... :bigthink:

The tri's are a bit hard on the thinner lawn when it's wet. But in thicker grass they are fine. They help a lot on snow though. |
Nice pics Jaybird. I like the long drift cutters. I have the stock ones on my blower but could have used longer ones last year. Maybe with a piece of plexglass between them! I painted the inside of my blower with EZ slide last year. I can't say It makes a huge difference with snow. It's really kind of a rough coarse finish. I think good glossy paint with some carnuba wax would be hard to beat for wet snow.

I was just thinking about making the mouth of my blower bigger with the plexi. I was busting 5'+ drifts last winter and they kept falling over the back of the blower when they broke. I then had to back up and run the blower over the same section again and again. Not a normal winter but this was the rule last year. Haven't even used the blade much this year. We've been dodging the weather so far this year. Except the cold!

Oil change
2 Attachment(s)
:Cub1: I cleaned off the drive and walk-way, and then changed the oil. It was too cold to do any more! :IH Logo: But it was sunny and got some seat time! Just 2 picts of the oil change operation going on.
|
Love seeing the pics of your 71 John!! Boy, that gas tank is screamin at me:biggrin2.gif:. Nice to see you got some seat time, I'll be getting some here in a few minutes, got another 4" of the beautiful white stuff:beerchug:
|
got some more snow yesterday. had to use the cub 122 with the front blade since i broke the bolt on the speedex plow. it may not push all as well as the speedex does but it was fun! hydraulic lift is nice.
today i got the 102 out and tried out the snowthrower after i applied some EZ-Slide. works allot better now. i got the plow fixed on the Speedex so back to plowing with that. |
Great pics of the 71, John! :beerchug:
