Welcome to the fuel burner club. :beerchug:

2/3rds startup throttle after a 30-second hold on the glow plugs is the sweet spot for my machine. You may want try that out. The important thing is to cut the throttle back as soon as possible so she doesn't start up on high revs too long. Matt has some great tips there. I always get mine fired up and then put on the deck / attach the lawn sweeper / get a Pepsi...you get the point. Last, don't run it out of fuel!!
:censored: BTW, you scored. |
My dad and I both have diesels D600s and they start completely different. I think like SaturnV said you have to find the sweet spot for each machine. On the BRS I just flip the throttle up until it hits the fuel on spot, heat the glow plugs between 20 and 30 secs depending on air temp and it cranks right up. I let it idle at that speed for a few minutes before working it. On Dads diesel you have to bump the throttle to 1/2-2/3s heat the plugs at least 30 secs then when it cranks back it down to idle. We tried both ways then settled on the easiest method for the particular tractor. Good Luck
