Thanks for the warning, Sam. For $50 I won't complain. :beerchug:

Just did the same here. Didn't do it last time but figured with how many times around the property I've wished I had something to pull a tractor up on a trailer, lift something in the shop, pull something in the yard, etc I could find 1001 uses for it. Thanks guys for posting this again :beerchug:

Edit: Anybody end up using these mounted in the garage to help lift engines out of Cubs or anything like that? I know they aren't overhead rated but for pulling an engine or lifting a deck or something; I don't see why that wouldn't work fine.

Ryan, I used an eye bolt, snatchblock, and the winch on my 4wheeler to put the motor in my 2372. Although with the delay, I don't know if I would trust it.:bigthink:

I remember when you did, the thread you posted it in :biggrin2: I've got a lot of ideas for what I want to use it for but I know one thing I would want to do is use it to lift engines out of Cubs. I can do the single cylinder Kohler's easy enough, and I can get the v-twins and KT's/Mag's out by myself, but it is not fun. I think if I did it a lot of engine hoisting with it, I'd want to wire up a manual switch instead of using the remote. I bet there's some how-to's out there on it :bigthink:

I dragged my last dead cub on my trailer by hand. Mine is on the way!

I would probably do the same or with enough practice you may be able to predict when it will stop.

If I had my quad stuck in a mudhole, the wireless would be cool. For doing an engine swap or plow lifting tho, I would prefer the the hardwire. I will use the HF one for pulling dead Cubs on to the truck. I did get 2 $4 mount plates while I was at it, tho!

I use one to lift my snow plow up and down. Even hard wired there is a slight coast to them. I also use a hinge type hookup to make it more universal, so I can use it on my trailer too.

I have the $59 one from 5yrs ago and use it often . I think it it is the same winch but has a larger plastic case covering it ,maybe so stupid people do not get there hands caught in the cable I use it to pull dead cars into the shop , the last part of the drive is up hill and there is a 4" lip of concrete if you miss the ramps of gravel , it pulls it up that lip ,so it is a great winch for the $$

Note back in 88 I bought a stepvan / old bread truck and used it as mobile tools sales . a pro tool seller warehouse was going out of business and I could buy there inventory very cheap ,esp the small stuff. I started buying imported air rachets at nearly nothing from many different named companies one was Harbor frieght and then soon they had lots of other items . I called the company and talked to the head guy asking what it would take to open a store here in KC ,they only had the los angeles location then . He said 100K
I said let me get back to you ,but I am interested ,I also said I can sell a lot of these tools no problem here and I was, in the tool truck ,big mistake . he wanted to know about sales of his tools and I said I sell the pheumatic stuff almost as soon as I get it with 100% markup.
I called back 2 months later tring to get it or work out the details but he would not answer or return the calls, they opened the Kentucky location 2 yrs later. :beer2:

If this winch was used as a hoist, does it have a positive brake on it or just rely on gear reduction to stop the spool when not under power? How long is the cable?

They are out!

My package showed up this morning. I knew the second I picked it up something was wrong! I opened the very light box, to find a lot of packing material, 2 mount plates, paperwork, and a note stapled to the top of the box. It said 'We are out, we will refund your card, and rebill it when the item comes in'. I paraphrased that a little.

I went back and checked my emails to make sure I didn't miss one, but they did't send any notification. I got a few coupons and a Thank You from the CEO, but nothing letting me know my item was back ordered. I'm not mad, just a little disappointed. Good thing I'm not going to buy a dead Cub soon. Although, I haven't checked CL yet today! :biggrin2:

Me too. I have been expecting my winch. Checked my online banking today and found a refund for the winch. I was disappointed to say the least. I went to the site and contacted customer service, simply stating that I wanted the winch, not my money back. Now the winch is $84.99
