Quick question; When you're unloading the truck into the auger, what's the purpose of the board laying flat on top of the auger? Does it keep the corn from making a big mess on the ground? :bigthink: |
Yep! You got it. We found out putting that board in kept the grain from splattering out so much.

Cool vid's Jonathan. Hope all you guys have a great harvest this year!:beerchug:

30%
We just tried opening up some fields up here in Wisconsin yesterday and the corn was anywhere from 27 to 33%. Not cool!:beerchug:

Woo hoo! Finished harvest today!! Got the last short 20 acres off the two town fields today, right at 3020 bushels so about 6 truck loads. Got done by 1:00pm and had a few "soda pops" after to celebrate :beer2: Now to clean up, ripping the fields, some bat-wing work, and pushing the fallen trees back. Good luck to those left out there! :beerchug:
BTW: Beat ya, John!! :biggrin2::beerchug: |
Here's a few pics of the last couple days on the farm. The first pic is of the wheel off the main grain cart. We had a wheel bearing going out about 3 or 4 days before the end of harvest so that put a damper on things. Got it fixed in time to finish up, though!
Next pic is of the main cart getting a load, and me behind in the 2nd cart waiting to take over and make sure the combine is empty before the end of the round. The last pic is of the local grain facility we haul to. Pit 2 is dry corn, pit 1 is wet. This facility has a 400,000bu wet bin, a tower dryer, 1 500,000bu dry bin plus 3x 600,000bu dry bins located right next to a major railroad track. It's a big operation. Enjoy guys! :beerchug: http://s26.postimg.org/tsqal16dl/IMG...954_Custom.jpg http://s26.postimg.org/kyze3xjex/IMG...447_Custom.jpg http://s26.postimg.org/ltlxpyr9l/PAN...115_Custom.jpg |
