I think you did a great job, if you had a lathe it would be perfect.

Unless it's a gawd awful noise I would not worry too much about it. There is so much old loose metal on the old cubs could even be a loose hood hinge pin. I think of the old cubs a lot like my Harley, they just make noise. But both just keep on going.

Check the transaxle mounting bolts, 3 on each side. They were loose on my 129 when I got it, allowing the trans to move, and it would knock going into neutral. I tightened them up and it has been fine ever since.
