I greased up my 126 and mowed a little behind the barn. Hauled branches away too. It's mowing alright, since the slivers that are left of the blades ARE sharp, but they are slivers. Where do you all get your blades for the 42" triangle deck? I found on ebay sets for $52 by Patton Acres that look good.

I got lucky. Local power shop guy had 2 sets of these on his shelf.. I grabbed them both. heres the link to the topic here.

I still find it amazing how much these "little" tractors can do. That is A LOT of driveway. It looks great! amazing results. A little slower than say a skid steer or a larger tractor but same results. Back when our tractors were built most people didn't have the option for the larger machines. Its truly a testament of what these great tractors of ours offered consumers who really needed to rely on them everyday for their homesteads!

Thanks! I am also amazed what these can do. When my dad first put our driveway in (it was different before we built the garage), he had a 127 with a blade, and a T9 dozer. He did most of the work with the 127.

My LT1018 to LT1024 Conversion

Dad's LT1018 always looked showroom condition. The engine blew a rod after 780 hrs. I was lucky enough to find a scruffy looking LT1024 with low hours on it. The 50 inch deck was beyond repair but the engine started and ran good. That 24 HP V-twin Briggs fit right on his LT1018 in place of the single cylinder.

(1.) Wiring harness had to come with the engine.
(2.) Engine shroud under the hood needed to be swapped.
(3) Choke and throttle cables needed to come along with the engine.

Everything fit right on....Perfectly..... I think she's a little overpowered for a 42"deck (if there is such a thing.) Dad noticed it uses a little more gas than it used to. That's cause he is a meticulous and detail oriented man of 87 yrs. He loves his lawn and I love it when he feels good enough to get out there on his mower. :biggrin2:

Cleared out some bushes and garden beds

Got my rebuilt hydro valves back, changed filter and hydro fluid.
Now my question on my model 682(142682399)
serial #2050584U710035.
Is there a spring on the brake pedal, and mine does not look like any diagram that I have found.

Grass Boarding!
Attachment 99556

three4rd 04-24-2019 06:54 PM

The grass boarding looks like a blast! Why did I not think of that when my daughter was growing up?

As to my cub activities for the day....let's see...got the transaxle bolt holes lined up and joined back to the frame (this took some doing) after having the tractor separated for the past few months in order to do a cork gasket job. Also hooked up all the linkages, took off the rear left tire in order to get the lift lever assembly pin put back in, then hooked up the lift bar. Now ready to pick up my rebuilt engine from a local dealer. Also will be giving a second coat of paint to the fender assy. Already sanded and painted the frame, tins, and most of the transaxle. This is in no way intended to be on the level of restoration like many of you do, but simply trying to spruce up the old 129 a bit - especially if I decide to sell it. :beerchug:
