I picked up my K301 AQS from the machine shop today and I'm not going to get a chance to get it in the 1200 before the SC plow day.:crap: The head got .010 milled off to make the head flat. They guy said it really needed it. It had acouple of spots where it was wavy in the gasket area.:bash2: It looks great now and I can't wait to get it reassembled and in the 1200.:beer2: I don't have any pics of the engine yet. I'll get some before and after I repaint the block.

I should have my 12hp block crank and head back from the machine shop @ Tuesday next week. Can't wait to get started on it. I have got to get all the governor stuff so I am not sitting here twiddling my thumbs when it gets back, LOL.

Looks awesome, Duke! :beerchug:

All Judes Fault!
well after watching the vid of judes 147 and back blade i couldnt resist. so today after school i dug out a brinly hitch, brinly blade, and 1 set of weights and bolted em to the 169. it would look alot better with a factory blade but the brinly works. now just waiting for the driveway to melt and i can play lol

well i got the 122 in the shop last night around 1am and fixed the part that attaches from the 3pt to the chains on the tiller. got that fixed and it works good lifting and setting it down. well this morning i got the speedex out and plowed a strip in the field so i could test the tiller out. boy it made that clumpy muddy soil powder! im impressed with it!
after romping the 3 wheeler on the yard for the past 2 weeks, it was pretty torn up. so i borrowed a Huge lawn roller from my dads friend and rolled the yard. i put it behind the 102 for this job. the roller was a little much for the 102 but it handled it okay except for the hills. after that, i got my stone picker out of the garage and got that running. hitched it up to the 102 and picked all the stones and gravel out of the grass that were pushed there during winter plowing. the stone picker does an awesome job! first time ive used it and im impressed with it. Yesterday i traded a parts 104 cub cadet tractor for a Brinly 10" moldboard plow and the Brinly U hitch. so im all set to plow. just need a 3pt for the 102 and ag treads. |

Well I finally got to change the hytran and filter in the 1282 today. Changed the oil while I was at it. Greased her up and she's ready for action :biggrin2:. What a difference changing the hytran made. It was starting to creep and not backing up like it used to, all better now.:bouncy: Had to take it for a test drive so of course I had to get the camera out. Since it was so nice I got the 582 out for a ride to!!:beerchug:

Well since I couldn't go plow today, I have been needing to redo my fuel tank for the 128. I have grown sorely tired of sanding, LOL.
I went to Ace Hardware and picked up a quart of Zip-Strip paint stripper. WOW!! Why hadn't I been exposed to this stuff before, LOL. It took the tank down to bare metal FAST. I then put a very nice coat of primer on it. Will lay some paint on it later on. I also decided to take the tunnel cover down to bare metal too and covered in primer. The hood and front cast grille will be next, then will do the tower. Will the fiberglass dash hold up to the stripper? Thought I should ask before I found out the hard way. |
I finally got the motor stripped and out of the 124 today! What a horrible dirty dirty job that was!! Worst part was getting that 40 year old manual pto off the darned thing. Lets just say that the only undestroyed part is the crankshaft! Im pretty sure I made use of all known 4 letter words at least 20 x each, have new wounds, and now I am pretty happy. So glad that the weather is warming up around here! :beerchug:

Warmer weather & got the itch,
Back down to the high 40's yesterday, but last weekend we had mid-60's+.
Just a pleasure to start tinkering outside. Cleaned up the muffler real good & gonna paint with some high-heat BLACK. Oooops, no paint? New primer & paint for the light panel, rewired, new bolts, new decal. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...4/DSC01096.jpg Gotta have lights for my # 109. Don't need them but I think they are cool.http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...DSC01100-1.jpg |
Awesome job, Nik!

Great pics and storys on what you all have been up to. The past couple of days I've been busy getting ready for plow day. Evan and I was getting some seat time Friday and the 100 died and after 3 condensers and coils 2 new autolite 216 plugs 2 spark plug wires I think that the switch is bad. No spark so going to check that out today. I found out that the ag's on the 100 are mounted on the rims the wrong direction causing me not to be able to use them on the the 125 or 1200.:bash2::bash2::bash2: So got to fix that as well. Friday Evan pulled the 100 to the house with the 125. I was being cute and lowered the bucket down and lifted the front tires off the ground. Well when it quit running I hooked a chain to the bucket and Evan pulled it closer to the house for me. 125 can pull! No wheel weight turf tires no tire spin just pulling the 100 with the bucket on the ground.
Got the spring assist on the 1200 loaded it on the trailer for the plow day. The rods started knocking so slept on it and at 5:30am I unloaded the 1200 and loaded the 125 on to take to the plow day. Front turf tires and all. That was a good choice! I will go into detail on the redneck plow day thread.:biggrin2: Had a blast plowing and got lots of seat time in! Thank you Vince the redneck plow day was great! |
Finally went and picked up some supplys, undercoated the bottom of my fender pan for the 2550. Need to get it back together and start on the 1250.
|
I got a plow and a disc of the 128 and plowed up a garden. It so much fun I'm plowing the guy across the the road a garden tommrow. I'll have pics up soon my camera died:BangPC:.

You're a very lucky fella, Nick! :beerchug:

That's a sweet find there!

I got the 100 fixed yesterday! Todd and Jude both gave me great phone tech support. The green wire that goes from the key switch to the volt reg. was broken and the black wire to the coil was about broke (2 strains holding it on). So once I got fixed it fired right up! The throttle cable on the 1200 broke so not going to mess with it until I put the new engine in.
Got a call from my wife to call her uncle. It seems if I can help him find a new mower he's wiling to let his other cubs go! He has 1862 and 1872! I've been wanting that 1872 for years! So off to find him a replacement mower so I can go pick up a super! I hope it works out.:biggrin2: |
It'll work out, Duke!

day after 4th redneck plow day!
working the mulch pile with my 1710/craftsmen jonny bucket/adapted to Cub!
Was tired from plow day, but Brother in-law, let me run my wide frame to work a mulch pile! Nice little low budget loader, had a ball even though was tired from plowing 12 acres with the dudes! John has sweet mini farm/grape arbors/berry plants! Daduke of |
today I pulled my transmission assembly and I will be having a freind install a set of 16/18 pulling gears in the next couple of days.
I pulled my fuel tank and drained all of the 110 racing fuel. I redrilled my main jet and needle seat out for methanol. Adjusted my timing a little past .028 Boy does this thing turn up fast now. Can not wait for my LP head to arrive so I can get the threads fixed and install it. |
It was a great day outside, so before I get into mowing and using the 782 on a regular basis, I knew I needed to change the oil, filter and airfilter.
Wow, I wasn't aware how intense that was going to be, LOL. I was able tho to get the oil filter changed, the air filter cleaned and the pre filter cleaned and re-oiled. While I had everything pretty much apart, I really needed to check out the starter, as it had been squealing, and sticking at times while starting the motor. Believe it or not, removing the starter was a lot easier than dealing with the oil filter, LOL. I got the starter removed, took it apart, cleaned and lubed it and it is working like a brand new one. A fairly good day of maintenance and now I am ready for plowing and mowing. Oh also replace plugs with some new autolite 26's. |
