william1041200 03-24-2011 08:17 PM

Aside from the soothing red in the photos, I also see some healthy green grass coming up! You should put a deck on the 122. :biggrin2:.

Got more awesome seat time today. Jenn surprised me, by buying new azaleas, so we planted them. I hauled the old azaleas and mums from the garden from last Fall to the woods. Had the cart loaded pretty good! Then Jenn got a shot of me, after the work was done.

Methos 03-26-2011 01:57 AM

Nice pics Allen! Did you pull them out with the 122?

ajgross 03-26-2011 03:24 AM

Now I'm not slamming Allen or anything but what is up with all of the Sears wheel weights on tractors? Those things are everywhere! I myself just got rid of 2 sets. I think they must have been included in baseball card packs along with that super hard piece of gum!

AJ

ACecil 03-26-2011 09:25 AM

Thanks guys! :beerchug:

Duke, Jenn stole my thunder. While I was unloading the mums to the woods, she took the shovel and pulled them out...lol. :biggrin2:

That would be my fualt!:biggrin2: Price and weight is the big reason. The sears sell for $50 for 70lbs and the IH are $125 for 52lbs. I wanted the weight when I had the danco on the 122 and left them on their for Allen so they wouldn't have to take them off. Allen got me a replacement set that I still need to paint and mount on one of my plowing tractors.:beer2:

The last 2 nights, I've fired up the 1712, took the front blade off, hooked up the cart, and hauled loads of goodies through the creek, and to the back part of my property. I need to take the started off and clean it again. Man I hate that loud GRRRR the starter makes!

LOL AJ! I noticed that too. I bought a 147 about 6 years ago, and it had the same style of weights on it...I kept them (they are 62lbs a piece) and use them on some turfs with chains in the winter. I think Lonny Buttke also has a set of them on one of his tractors

Dang 62lbs each! I need a set of those! Sounds like you've been able to get some non-snow removal seat time BIll.:IH Trusted Hand:

Got into the 124 tonight. Pulled the head and found a little carbon buildup:bigeyes:. Looks like there was a little blow by so I'll need to address that. Any recommendations for the valves?? I'll get it'll all cleaned up and see what they look like. It was running good so I don't want to dismantle any more of it. Also took the rear apart some more, pulled axle seals, bushings look to be in very good shape. Will need to clean out gear box as its got some crud in the bottom of it, but looks good otherwise:biggrin2: Pulled brake pads and now just need to start ordering new parts. Was hoping to sell this tractor when I'm done with it, but I don't know:Huh:

That 124 sounds good when it's running. Can't wait to hear it after the carbon is removed.:beer2:

Mooner 03-26-2011 10:18 PM

Put the Ag tires on the 149 today. Then I assembled the new Agri Fab broadcast spreader, which I'll be using very shortly. I also bought an aerator to use on the lawn and cancelled my annual lawn fertilizer contract. I'll be bringing in some loads of topsoil soon too, and will have fun moving it around. Can't wait! :beer2:

Nice looking tractors Mooner, make sure you get some action shots.

I didn't work on them today, spent most of the day at the auction. Came home empty handed. Had some nice Cubs, probably 20 o 25 nice cubs. And at least 200 garden tractors. Little cold but it was fun. Passed up on an IH built 682 it was pretty rough and went for $375. Oh well maybe next time. I did find a deal on a set of cub rims with factory Firestone turfs on them for 20 bucks on CL though, going to pick them up in the morning.:biggrin2:

I cleaned out the spindle bearing holders inside and out, sandblasted and painted them. All the carriage bolts got sandblasted and painted black , also the front hangers and rear mount pins . Come on spring! Im ready to cut grass

Diz Jr. 03-27-2011 08:17 AM

Cool picture of the Cubs. Looks like you are ready for business. Let us know how the spreader works :beerchug:

Nice work on the deck

jeff k. 03-27-2011 08:53 AM

That looks nice ,You did a great job on that deck.:beerchug:

william1041200 03-27-2011 11:10 AM

Thanks guys! There was so much pitting underneath, and anywhere 2 parts were bolted together. Im glad I saved it. Now, today, since there is no snow and the sun is shining Im getting back to work on the 107. I've gotten the hydro lever freed up. Steering column out. I need to get some hy-tran and a new filter for the hydro then see if I can get it running. It needs to take me for a ride.

Methos 03-27-2011 01:33 PM

Dang William! That looks great! Nice pics too!

Cubcrazy 03-27-2011 01:37 PM

Nice work on the deck William!!

IHinIN 03-27-2011 01:46 PM

Nice job William. I need to get my deck painted and reassembled so I don't have to mow with the sheet metal MTD anymore and sell it while it still works.

Mooner 03-27-2011 03:34 PM

Thanks for the comments, guys. I'll try to get some action shots real soon. It's been a beautiful, brisk day here in Buckeye land this weekend. Sure hope it warms up quickly.

william1041200 03-27-2011 05:00 PM

Thanks guys! I really appreciate hearing the compliments from all of you!

I cant wait to see bottom side at end of season. Have some ideas for next year, anticipating grass sticking places and high wear areas.

ACecil 03-27-2011 06:44 PM
