Well, made it through round two of the ear treatments yesterday. Son of a female dog, was worst than the first time.
Went for the hearing test first to see if there was any improvement after the first round. Nothing:bash2: Then went up to the Dr.'s office for the injection. Got all snuggled into the chair and waited for the Dr. he comes in and does some small talk while he's getting ready, then says to me are you ready? I guess.... I'm feeling him put the little cone in my ear and anticipating the upcoming burn of the numbing medicine, then felt a sharp poke and pulled away:bigeyes: WTH!!!! He says you have to sit still.... So the wife comes over and holds my head steady and he shoves the needle in my ear drum:angry: NO NUMBING MEDICINE! Bout stood up for the first time in 30 years:censored: I asked him why he didn't numb it up first? He's like, "sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't" So I said, next time you WILL So now we wait another 12 days and do it all over again. |
Good grief! That's ridiculous. Hope he gets a root canal with no numbing or something like that.

knew a lady who was deathly afraid of dentists, she sat in the chair and grabbed the Doctors testicles and quietly said "now doctor we are not going to hurt each other, are we"? only had to do it one time she said.
Hope you have good results, and next time,he numb's it. a poke in the ear without numbing has to hurt something awful. Again, praying for you buddy! |
Wow, Todd. Seems like he would know to do his work with the least amount of pain/discomfort to the patient as possible. I believe in trying to find understanding in these type of situations, but darned if I can in this one...unless, the pain medicine prevents the patient from sensory perception that is needed to address the ailment, but that does not sound like that was his rationale at all.
When I went to my oral surgeon many years ago, he has a picture of surgeons at the operating table with Jesus standing behind them, resting his hand upon the surgeon's shoulder. I know when I go to him, I am always in good hands. I am continuing prayers for you. One true blessing you have been given is a very wonderful woman to stand with you. Take care my friend, Cub Cadet 123 |
I'd be taking a baseball bat with for the next treatment. :BB&YS:
