Your 126 is looking good, like the shifter reminds me of the old days....I have seen that PO mod on a deck I have.I was wondering what it was for.

Great looking seat! Nice work on the deck also  |
Thanks guys. I mowed a little with it yesterday and it worked great. The way these old decks are cut out in the front, it lets a lot of grass clippings get on top of the deck though. When I got done, the top of the deck was covered. I plan on finishing up the mowing today.

Jenn got her 2130 out, and hauled two bags of mulch! :beerchug:

Has been so rainy last few days I haven't been able to get much done. But UPS arrived this evening with a package I have been waiting for. A box with two new shiny 8 inch hubcaps for the front wheels on the 782. I have 10's located for the back, just have to get those ordered in a couple of weeks. Now my decision is whether I want to keep the 8's on the front or go with 6's and make it look old school hot rod style and have only the very center section covered instead of the whole wheel? :bigthink: Should I show pics? :biggrin2: Maybe tomorrow I might, LOL.
Oh I forgot, no, these don't have IH in the center. :( |

workin my 782
Loaded the big red one on my trailer,My sons grass got away from him.For starters a 50'' deckwill fit on a 5x8 trailer but its very tight,Took it off to cut some grass and the fun began just got the pto working and couldnt wait to try it. grass was almost knee deep blades were dull belts were worn it cut but deck was all the way up.First we stopped to sharpen blades, then back to mowing was doing ok but belt was so worn I had to run the throttle up high and drive kinda slow. Then all the sudden a pop and she got louder , went and looked in the grill the end cap blew off the muffler. So I got back on and started mowing again it was about a minute later when I saw the smoke, and next thing I know the wife came running over and saw flames, seems some oil and old debris ignited, nothing a half a glass of water couldnt put out.So back to the shop to fix the muffler and clean the top of the motor.Back to mowing, cut a couple of passes and the pto stopped working, by this time I thought maybe give the old girl a rest, but no its a Cub Cadet it cant just die in the yard, well at least not the front yard. After trying to get the pto going with no luckI started to drive to the trailer,I had to flip the pto switch just one more time.Seems the Cub Cadet Gods were watching the pto started working again,so I made one more pass and told my son he could finish up if he could keep it going,Well I called him after dark he got the yard done without any more problems the 782 is now resting comfortably at his house,He also named it "The Beast" now I have to find a way to get it back from him,I think he has gotten a touch of yellow or in this case red fever. For a while I think he thought I was crazy but now I think he understands.
|
Thats a great story! But don't you hate it when the gremlins all come out to try and kill the beast? Happens to me too! Last time out was flawless, uneventful. Hope your next time is also!!! :beerchug:
|
If the pto continues to cut out randomly it could be too big of air gap. Also check your connections.

Got to do some mowing with the 1811 again today. Also got to put on my home made bumper/weight bracket for it! Now its starting to look like the big boys out in the fields. Just need more weights now. And it keeps the grille from being knocked out when i put it in my truck bed against the tool box. First pic is when i was geting it set right to drill the holes in the bumper to mount it to the frame. Second it just after i get all three bolts in place and tightened down. And the last pic is when i put my weights on. Realy proud of this piece! :beerchug:

Mowed deep grass with the 127 and tag mowers last night.
I have to get the charging system working on that unit. who is the expert on here for electrical issues? Amp meeter shows its discharging. Just ordered a set of 4.00 -8 Deestone tri ribs for one of the cubs not sure which one, they will go on the old 83 first. If the rims are clean and painted can these tires be mounted as tubeless? Have to get out there and pick up grass with the 102. Regards, Chris |
the cheaper deestone try ribs that i bought required tubes.

Nice pics of the Cubs Jason and Gary:beerchug: I got around to getting some paint on the new wheel weights and primed the new sears weights. Primed and painted the Hydro unit too:biggrin2:. The hydro was alot of work to get it down to bare metal, a few PO paint jobs and it was on thick is some spots, but I'm happy with the turnout!

Wow!!! everyone has been busy today.
Great pictures you guys  I mowed with the 169 for several hours today. It didn't rain for a whole day here, I cant hardly believe it :biggrin2: |
I mowed grass this evening, after a long day rebuilding my haban. Here goes my story. Please don't criticise me, I know its dangerous, but not much worse than just riding along. I went out to mow, and my little girl followed me running. figured, hey, I take her for a ride and she will be cool and go in and play. Nope. she freaked when I decided the ride was over. OK. Another ride, but this time I ran the deck, same time. She settled in on my lap, holding on gently and solid. I figured that when she started squirming Id stop and make her go inside, but for 1 hour solid she sat on my lap holding on, happy as could be. I stopped for gas, drinks for both of us, then back out to mow, and more of the same. She ducked down under tree limbs and squealed with delight! For over 2 hours we had a connection concealed by the sound of a kohler and mower deck singing underneath. I did long passes, to keep from stopping, or backing up, to make it longer, and to make it safer for us. It was magical to me.

Thanks guys! :beerchug:
Great looking super, Mike! |
