The plastic is almost perfect. I had a 1641 with busted pins that I fixed by using some 3M structural adhesive to glue some studs in the hole in the center of the broken off pins then I just put nuts and washers on. Lower one is a bit of a PITA because you have to pull the grill off to get at it but it was the only way I could come up with to save the panel. Worked good. I'm thinking about making a mold and building a dash pod to house the gages rather than cutting up the dash. If I do that I may make a few of them for sale. May get stupid and see if I can get one of old racer buds to do them out of carbon fiber. :beerchug: |
Looking good Sam!:beerchug: I've thought about having a cub get-together, but I've been one OCC for a while and we dont have very meny members in the area:bigthink:

I hauled these two home from St. Louis, not exactly just around the corner. Matt If you have a pic of the dash mod I'd love to see it. Going with SW gages I got from Summit racing, mech oil press, elec water temp only because the sender in the Bota is only 1/8" npt, a volt meter and hour meter. I'll probably stick with the gas low leval light. |
I don't have a picture of it...only thing that got done with it was the addition of a few small holes by the PO for switches and stuff, so consequently it is more or less worthless to most people.

Matt
I was just going to take a hole saw to the dash but the tower has a rib exactly where the gages need to go and I'm concerned it would weaken it so I'm going to make something up that will space the gages away from the dash and run the wiring through the holes that the bulbs were in. Plus it has to have the cool factor going on and just because I have to be different LOL :biggrin2: |
