Great looking loader build. Looks like you put a lot of thought into it. I really like your idea for the quick attach bucket. If you do not mind I would like to copy it for my loader. I have loaded 26X12X12 ag's and 75 lbs of wheel weights on each side and also a weight box and at times I find my self needing more rear ballast. Thanks for posting your project.

Thanks guys. It's not done yet, but there is light at the end of the tunnel! I think the heal/toe control will be almost a necessity so I'm on the look out for a couple of pedals to repurpose.

Fred, one of the things I'd do different is the quick disconnect. Rather than the Bobcat wedge style, I'd go with a hook style, more like on the rear of some tractors. I believe JD uses a hook style on the front.

I'm also going to investigate casting some lead weights from old batteries.

Can I ask why you would change the quick disconnect? Might check some old tire stores for used wheel weights. Around here battery cores are quite high in price.

The lead in batteries are not easily reclamed by an individual, but as mentioned, lead from tire weights are easy to melt/reclaim.:beerchug:

When the price of lead went through the roof a few years ago, all those easy sources dried up. Every tire shop has buyers now.

Fred, I think the hook system would be easier to make and probably easier to use.

Wow, Ambush! I've been distracted by other chores for a couple weeks, looks like you're ready to get to work with that FEL. It looks great!

I love the quick attach idea. I just bought another Kubota ( a BX2680) and while I didn't get a loader with this one (I have a BX23) I noticed that the newer SCUTs (both Kubota and Deere) have that option. It does reduce the lift capacity by almost 100 lbs, due to component weight and/or change in distance from pivot points. But opens up a lot of options for attachments. One very useful implement is front forks, as for moving pallets. The ones that attach to the bucket lift so much less due to distance they stick out.

Anyway, another vote for the glamour shots! POTW potential.

You're doing a great job on the FEL! What a useful tool that will be!

I finally got to do a little tractor work today! I had to grub out an apple tree and tear out a bunch of landscape ties. And since I was using the tiller for counterweight on the stump removal job, I fired it up and chop up all the small roots too.

I converted a bolt-on weight rack to quick connect onto the sleeve hitch and that worked well too. 150 pounds works pretty good for light duty digging. Getting impatient for the ag tires to show up.

I hope ole-George doesn't see this, because those are "CrapsMan" weights.
