DX3
I finaly decided to get at this job after putting it off for some time.I want to thank you guy's who post your ideas and solutions to these problems.I for one read all of them along with the advise you's give to others.

_DX3_ 08-10-2011 07:42 PM

Well I filled the old smoker up with some fuel, checked all the things to check before starting, and rolled out of the shop and mowed the yard. WOW! I'm in heaven. :biggrin2: Pure enjoyment. At "full throttle", for you william, :) LOL, I am amazed at the power this thing has. I can see now why everyone wants a diesel. It actually felt like too much to be mowing with running those RPM's up like that. The only thing I did notice was that the front screen on the radiator did get pretty clogged up and the temps crept just above the last line before getting to the "H". It didn't get any higher. Starting out mowing for the first hour it would pretty much stay right at the middle line or 12 o'clock position. The air hose at the end of the day cleaned it up real good. I may have to do half the yard and then do a screen cleaning then finish the rest of the yard. It is bad dusty and dry here right now. I would say normal type of grass should pose no problems.

aagitch 08-10-2011 10:01 PM

Glad you enjoyed your first mowing. Yeah if that screen gets clogged it'll kind of suffocate the engine area. It's amazing how some blocked air can affect the temps like that.

ACecil 08-10-2011 10:17 PM

That's great, DWayne! Mind if I come up, and give the diesel a try? :biggrin2:

_DX3_ 08-10-2011 10:42 PM

Allen, your welcome to come stay as long as you want and play :biggrin2:

I probably need to get the stuff to get the plow on it so you can have more fun, LOL.

ACecil 08-10-2011 10:52 PM

Sounds good to me, DWayne! I do have an aunt in Louisville!

DWayne you need your own pit crew NASCAR style!

Disclaimer I live in the heart of NASCAR country so I'm a bit one sided on the type of racing I watch.:biggrin2:

Ive spent this past week getting my 123 out of the weeds and whipped into show shape! Got the rear wheels, exhaust, and transaxle painted, along with a good bath all over, and i think it cleaned up rather nicely. Got it at the local fair and proud to say its the only IH Cub Cadet and garden tractor there! The next smallest is a IH Cub Low Boy! Its proven to be a big hit amosnt the young and old. Constantly saw little kids climbing up and into the seat and the others talking about the Cubs they own or wished they still owned. Im just glad to have it there to be enjoyed :biggrin2:!

MrGitrdone41 08-14-2011 10:38 PM

I'd love to take the 73 to the fair to show up the same old patio JD they have every year.I hate to sell the little thing but it will be a engine rebuild or two tractors that sit around all the time.

ACecil 08-14-2011 11:13 PM

Very sharp 123, Dan!

ihnick 08-14-2011 11:47 PM

finally got a 50A deck yesterday. i traded a 44a for this 50a:biggrin2: so i got that mounted on the good ole 149. then i mounted a nicer headlight panel in the same 149 and added head lights to the 86. my for main wideframes (the 86, 128, 149 and 169) all have head lights now. just need to run some wiring. good cub day for me :beer2:

ACecil 08-14-2011 11:51 PM

I finaly got my 1250 back in action after replaceing a leaking cork gasket, trunion springs and shims.Finished up today after welding and fileing the spring box while waiting for parts to arrive from CC Specialties. I filled it up with Hytran made and some adjustments.Backed her out of the shed and put the mower deck back on and mowed the yard. Here she is after a good workout.I have a weak reverse motion but I am working on it.This took longer than expected as I have 12+ hours in the repairs,it took alot of fileing along with searching for a lost split ring.

Diz Jr. 08-18-2011 09:19 PM

Nice work steveyrock

ACecil 08-18-2011 10:50 PM

I agree! You have a nice 1250 also! :beerchug:

steveyrock 08-19-2011 04:32 AM

That 1250 was in pretty bad shape when I picked it up.The ISO mounts were shot along with a bad front crank seal.I fixed all that and the governor broke which led to a engine rebuild.I put in a new battery and new front tires. The side panels were badly rusted. The voltage reulator needed replaced.Lastly the trunion and gasket repairs. You got to love these machines to bring one like this back into shape.I got alot of money and time involved and it was not a total restoration as there are many scratches and dings on her.

ACecil 08-20-2011 05:26 PM

Jenn mowed and I did more lawn sweeping..lol.

I made some changes to my subsoiler. Check out my "subsoiler attachment" thread for more info and pics.

A few days ago, I made an exhaust deflector for the 126 to see if it made it any quieter from the seat. It's basically a short stack attached to the muffler that directs the exhaust out the front instead of the side. I mowed with it today and it made a difference. It seems a little quieter. The voltmeter i put on the 126 bit the dust today. The needle jumps from 8-12 volts. Apparently it couldn't handle the vibration.

It was a good time. I did not see as many cubs But it was fun i loved the 582 it is a CCC built and has a creeper.

Nice pics Mrgeterdone. The 1568 is the sharpest International they made in my opinion. I thought they had a DV-550 International truck division engine in them.

Great pictures guys!

Today, I installed the sleeve hitch on the 1811. Amazed at how much easier it was to install than the ones on my 105, and 1250. :beerchug:

Had to try a few small passes with the 10" to "test it"...... :biggrin2:

Pulled it really good, even without weight.

And lose loader time :bigthink: never!:biggrin2:

Plus Allen will let me borrow his any time I need it. I just have to make the 6 hour round trip to get it.:OhOh:

Now that I've got a working mower I shouldn't have to sweep the yard but that yard vac is looking pretty good about now. Just have to go pick it up and that's only a 3 hour round trip to get it.:bash2:
