Nice pic! Well today i started to cut grass with the 128 and the motor made a pop then died. Well i can say the engine blew up:Cry1:. I'm going to rebuild it as soon as i sell the 73. It was a bad day
|
Sorry to hear that Sam.
You will get it back up running in no time. |
Good timing ....I just saw the "Hitching Post " at TSC today . IIRC
about $ 30.00 . I almost pulled the trigger but didn't . Hmmmm :bigthink: |
I am having trouble on finding info on this "hitching post" can u post a link, or pic?
|
Sorry to hear bout your 128 man....I have a feeling my tired 129 isn't far behind ya. In fact, it will die under a load now quite reliably It's scary when it happens, feels like it's gonna explode - but back off the throttle quickly and it will come back to life.
....for those interested, the Hitchin Post on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Vibrations-170.../dp/B003L77Z8Y |
That is pretty neat. Thanks for the link.

Yesterday I got the V61's mounted.....and on the 1811. :beerchug:
Looks a lot better than the turfs! :biggrin2: Here's a couple pictures. |
Looking good MrCC! I have turfs on my 882 and don't like the look at all. That will change soon. Where did you buy your V61's at?
|
Conner those look great!
|
Nice V61 i love the look of them! I'm going to buy a set from the 1812. Also i don't think the motor blew up on the it may the fuel line is to long idk. I'll found out. Here is the new vid i uploaded www.youtube.com/watch?v=-weU407HRjs

Conner, the new tires look great on the 1811.

V61s look sweet! Have a deeper tread than I thought. Definitely beat the turfs. Nothin like a new set of rubber!
I still have my heart set on a pair of Firestone Tri-Ribs, but they're so expensive. Think they'd look mean on the front of a newer Cub too. Thanks for the tip on that coil....that is exactly what my 129 is doing.....and it used to do it once in a while, now it's bad when I first fire it up and it just gets worse. Maybe I'm not fouling plugs, but losing spark....similar symptoms, way different cause.... |

I got them at the Portland, IN show. :beerchug: Don't remember the business's name, though. :bash2: I would have went with Miller Tire, but they were sold out of this size. Quote:
What's going to be your next plow tractor, Allen? :biggrin2: :beerchug: |

Come on Allen, don't we at least get a hint?
Today, I painted a pair of rear wheels for my new Tru Power tires. I'll give them a few days to dry before I mount the tires. I can't wait to see the 100 with it's new shoes. |
Cant wait to see this suprise of your ACecil!
Got the decals off the hood on the 1450, and getting it preped for primer. Went and got a fiberglass repair kit from the auto parts store to repair the dash. Needless to say i dont have the patience nor the skill to work with fiberglass and the resin. So after that nice miss adventure ive just given up and chucked the ruined dash in the junk pile. Maybe one day but not today....:bash2::bash2::bash2::bash2::bash2: |
Thanks guys! You'll see plenty of pics, Saturday. :biggrin2:

Had a 'oh crap' moment today that actually turned out alright.
Mowed the worst of my clients properties yesterday with the 2186. It excelled at the steep grades and tall grass, but after that lawn I decided that I was going to change the hydro filter, even if it had been changed at 100 hrs by previous owner (still waiting on verification of this, btw). So, this morning my daughter and I went to the dealer, got our 15.00 723-3014 filter for the BDU 10/21 hydro. Got home and immediately got working on it. Didn't remove deck or put it on ramps, just did it on the floor. Easy system to work on, really. So...finally got the filter to break loose with a strap wrench, and I saw some fluid starting to run out behind the filter. "Ok," I thought, "that's just whats in the filter." Nope! Loosened it again, and it came pouring out. Then I thought bout where the fluid level had to be when it was on the dipstick, and realized it was way above the level of the filter housing. So I tried to finagle swapping the new filter on there before I lost all the fluid, to no avail. I knew how expensive their "Drive System Fluid Plus" was, so I was cussing up a storm. Didn't really have over a hundred spare bucks just layin around to get the Cub back together. I moped around for a while, then did some research. Long story short, I went with some Rotella 5w-40 Synthetic. A third of the price of the Cub fluid, and I still have a quart or so left over from the two jugs I bought. After I cooled down, I had the presence of mind to set my old oil filter to drain into a clean container, so I could inspect the old fluid. Brought over a shop light and inspected the fluid. It was a darker color when compared to the one quart of new Drive System I had bought weeks ago, but that didn't concern me as much as the light metallic sheen it had under a light. So glad I lost all the old fluid and replaced it. Now I have some peace of mind. Thanks for listening. Justin |

Hey guys! I did some work on a K301 block today like clean it and painting it. It has a chip out of the block on the bore and a hair line crack about a inch up the bore.I would like to use this block to put in the 128 but i don't know about the block. It was also rebuilt but the gov. came loose and blew the motor up everything else is good on it.The bore is egg shaped, can it bore out more or is it junk.It is STD bore.Attachment 14890

The chunk missing isn't too worrisome, but the crack is. Also, the only way you, I or anyone else will know if there is enough material remaining to bore it oversize is if you measure the bore in accordance with the manual. We cannot tell by looking at a picture how much it is worn.

Had a great cub day, with my buddy, Duke! Got my new plow tractor, I love it! Y'all will see pics tomorrow! Thanks buddy for a fantastic cub!
