I will post ASAP with detail, I try the K.I.S.S way and if I don't get good result I take the hard way with what I have left in stock in my drawers. |
The circuit was posted for someone who really likes to tinker.

One day a friend tell me, those who only take the hard way to resolve a problem got a small di**, since that day I try to find the most simple way to get the job done. :OhOh: Have to go trying the stupid way first...See ya  |
The simple (stupid) way was not accurate so I decided to crack the belly of the Faria meter.
http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...aria%20RPM.jpg Here you can see the heart of the beast, a crappy Chinese RPM driver (Frequency to voltage converter) made by Cherry Semiconductor. (CS289-9635J) http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...loux/Heart.jpg Now all I need to do is study this circuit and lower the voltage send to the meter coil, simple enough? We will see :coffee: |
Here is a tachometer that is programmable for 1 to 12 cylinders and has Inductive Pick-Up from the coil or spark-plug.

Too bad it is 2.5" in diameter.

I wanted to give a quick update. I rigged up the tach I bought off eBay and it has worked. I'll get it setup this weekend and get back with everyone.

Good to know it work
I got the parts I need to mod mine, I just need spare time to give it a try. In the mid time I found Kirk installation pdf file, he take his signal from the ignition coil instead of the stator/generator. http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...Kirk%20RPM.jpg |
