Today I pulled the shields off the Kohler m18 in the 1811 and replaced the starter and torqued the head bolts. tomorrow I will clean up all the old grassy oily buildup that sits inside and under those heat shields. It took a lot more time to get the shields off then to do the rest of the work. What a pita to get the bolts out on the bottom of the motor! :bash2:

I find it easier and faster to pull the engine... Your mileage may differ.:beerchug:

Winter temperatures showed up this weekend so I spent a bit of time reading the Cub sites. Searching for Steering in particular. After getting a handful of knowledge I went out side (just for a minute to look at something). Next thing I know I had the Drag link and Tie Rod down. They were put on wrong by P.O.
Then I checked and tightened the Axle Bolt/Nut... very loose. Put the rods back up correctly, they were put on in such a way that they were binding on each other. Looked at the tires; they were not even close to pointing straight at the same time. I centered the steering wheel and made the proper tie rod adjustments. For a guy that was staying in the warmth today, I got the Steering much tighter. The alignment makes the tractor steer much easier and the turning radius is much improved. No need to look at Super Steering it. I'm happy with what I got now. A good day All while still wearing my slippers. I WAS just running out for a minute : )

Tony, did you say "sites"? You mean there's more than one?

Glad to hear you got your steering worked out.:beerchug:
