Trouble shooting the 147R electrical problems tonight. Using the technical portion of this forum to find the answer!
After running thru some recommended testing, found the problem with the "new" voltage regulator. Swapped it out with a old one.
Hope to get a little seat time on the 147 this weekend. Maybe some mud on those new tires:) I will try to get some shots outside of the garage!
Regards,
Chris

Nice pics Vince!

Got the front weight bracket finished, and the weights painted on my 1450 project.

Sugarmaker 11-12-2011 08:15 PM

We got most of the major bugs worked out of the 147 R project tractor today.
So I decided it was time this tractor started earning its keep! Some shots hauling wood and granddaughter Marly is moving honey supers.
Also a shot of when this tractor arrived in late June.
For the first work, it preformed flawlessly!
I took some pictures with the regular camera I need to down loads those and see if they look a little better.
Grandson Mike and son-in-law mark took the 147 for a spin and I thought I saw smiles as the blipped the throttle a few times. Mike said it was very responsive. Both said it is a tad on the loud side.
Will try the pictures in a new post??
Regards,
Chris

Had another nice day today and a yard full of leaves again :bash2:. Got Big Red out and mulched them up and then hooked up the sweeper and cleaned up the yard real nice. Then we used my brother in laws new torch to repair some bent metal in a couple different places on the 73 frame. Looks good now. All in all a good cub day.

Today, I took the grille off of the 1650, and started getting the motor ready to come out for new motor mounts and drive line parts. And got the 1810 running (Ran pretty good) but then started dripping oil badly, near the flywheel...probably from the crank seal. :bash2:  I also got the blade and Brinly adapter on the 100. :beerchug:

Here's some pictures of the 100, with the blade and adapter, doing some grading....and the oil leak...

Vince_o 11-12-2011 10:48 PM

I think they should have made them all red, NICE 147!

ACecil 11-13-2011 12:23 AM

Awesome pics, guys!

Conner, want to come down to NC, and help me put my blade on the 100? :biggrin2:

nikster 11-13-2011 07:13 AM

Great color (RED) on you cub. Didn't think that any color but original would do. But hey when it's your cub, ya can do what you want with it.

Nik,

Hey Diz, i got my weights from Midwest Super Cub. the one ones i have on the tractor now are the 3lbs "fake" weights. But they also have 10lbs weight that looke just like them. The 3lbs are $17 bucks and change and the 10lbs are $18 and something.

:biggrin2: I swear, Allen has his wife throw all these leaves out on his lawn just so he can use his 100 & sweeper every day! I can't imagine having that many leaves around to clean up. I guess I am lucky living in a wind tunnel ?

:LMAO1:

I was begining to wonder the same thing! :biggrin2:

It makes sence because once you empty the sweeper you have a pile. And the pile is a prime target to go after and scatter back out! Nothing like the wife keeping the man busy! At least she lets him play with his cubs! :beerchug:

Diz Jr. 11-13-2011 06:33 PM

Thanks for the info dieseldan123

As always, looking good on the 100 ACecil

Teach a man to fish, keep him busy for a weekend.

Give a man a Cub Cadet, he will be busy forever!!

Today, I found a couple antique Ertl 1:16 scale Cub Cadets at a show. Googled them and found this page on them. I have the 129, and 126 models.

I also stopped by a guys house just down the road from me, and picked up another 12" Brinly. :biggrin2: :beerchug: In great shape, and shows hardly any wear. Hope to get pictures tomorrow.

Had Cheryl drive the 147 while I put up the snow fence. Ruined the rear tire on the 86 tyring to break the bead. Had to charge the 102, took the rear tires off the 102, mounted one on the 86. Put the wider 12 inch turf tires on the 102. Looks beefy. Started the 73 and moved it to the small shed.

Regards,
Chris

I cleaned out the steering box on my 125, regreased it and put it back together. Now I only have a 2"-3" worth of wiggle in my steering wheel insted of 1/3 of a wheel turn.

I also took out the front axle pin and replaced it with a 3/4" bolt and nut which tighend up the front axle.

Then I shaved the stops on top of the axle so I have more clearance going over the ruff turain in my back yard.

Then I moved the pivot point on the steering and shaved the stops on the axle so it steers sharper!

BAAM! Next is to put an FEL on it that a picked up last week! Yahoo!

LarryW 11-13-2011 10:31 PM

Nice lookin 125, SteveW!!!

Sounds like some sharp updates too! Sharp steering. :biggrin2: I know, lame joke..... :bash2: :biggrin2:

Cool ideas though! I may look into them on my 147.:beerchug:

The new to me 108 earned its spot in the garage yesterday hauling 2 yds of mulch . Definately not a Super , but a cool little tractor and fun using the gears . :beerchug:
