My new plow day tractor!
 

Thanks to Oak aka Todd for this find! Thanks Buddy!

I got home from taking my son to school this morning and had a CL email from Todd for this 2072! It threw the drive shaft and tore the rag joint and bent the lift rod for the deck. The drive shaft put a dent in the transmisson filter but the guy gave me a new one!:beer2: It has the 60" deck with new belts and gator blades! I got the cat 0 lift with it as well! I'll get pics of that later once I get it reinstalled on the tractor. He had the cat 0 listed for extra and I couldn't pass it up.:biggrin2: I hope to start getting parts in the morning before I start my other cub project.:biggrin2: The rear tires are Namdam never heard of them before but going to load them and use them.:biggrin2:

I think a safety switch is bad so got to trouble shoot that. He said it smoked at start up and it fired right up with no smoke! It has 1633 hours on it.

I learned a big lesson today! Have straps that can handle your load! I'll let the picture speak for it's self! I about had a heart attack!

OK I see a theme of SGT's and Haban sickle mowers being bought up left and right. Did I miss a memo??? :angry:

I was talking to Vince O earlier today and told him it seems to be the season for the supers. Not to mention the 782d's for me. Ive come across 5 in the last month!! I was hoping the 782D didn't work out today! I still want a smoker but this was to good to pass up! I've missed out on 5 smokers this spring.:bash2: Todd tells me I'll be selling off all my NF's now. Evan wanted to drive it in the rain tonight so he's pretty pumped about it too!

Thanks! Keeping the shinny side up wasn't easy today! I'm looking forward to getting some seat time on it! Speaking of the seat I need to get a new cushion for the seat pan theres a off topic padding on there now. I think I'm going to like the high back rest.:biggrin2:

Looks like you almost lost the thing before you got it home though, I'll bet you are counting your blessings it did not fully come off the trailer. :beerchug:

Thanks! I love the rear AG's as well and want to get some sweet V61's for the front. Those really give it a aggressive look. And lots of people swear by them. The only thing that stopped it from coming off the trailer is the deck! The front strap slowed it down but the deck saved the day! I'm still a bit excited about the whole deal! The good and the scary!

I tried to hook him up today with one. I tried also on Tuesday. Lately around here, they have been way too much... but soon, Duke will have a smoker.

Got to find me a plow now and I'll have to find some place to turn some dirt! Hmm could speed up my plans for expanding the garden!

Nice looking tractor Duke! If you plan to plow with it, I highly recommend loading the front tires too. For some reason, the cat 0 plows tend to lift the front end a little. Loading the front tires on my 982 helped a lot.

Please if your going to haul stuff please take a min and think about how your load is on the trailer. As much iron as Ive hauled up and down the road ive seen so much stuff that was an accedent ready to happen.

Remember 99% of the time if something goes wrong, the load move forward! I try to put at least 2 straps on a tractor, one pulling forward, and one pulling back. Also be very carefull of the strap in a position that it will get cut and be cut! I use the large 1 1/2 straps from a local rigging supply house. They sow them right there out of the scrap webbing, and I get them for about 18 bucks a piece with a WORKING LOAOD RATING OF 2700 LBS They make them with all types of ends from hooks, like I have, flat hooks like I have on my semi, and E hooks like for hauling freight in a dry van.

Please think of what and how you have your loads on the trailer. If you think that the brakes, in gear, or a piece of the fron trailer wll hole your tractor in an accedet, you may be surprised.

I dont want to preach, I just want you guys around to plow with and shoot the breeze with, for a long time! :biggrin2:

So Duke nice find I wanna see it at plow day this fall, or spring for sure! Ill tell you this if that piece on the pumo is loose, they are hard as heck to find, I know Ive been looking! Marlin has one on his web site thats NOS you may wanna get it if your is loose.

Looks like a nice one and an easy fix to boot! I just got my second one and I love it.

Vince thanks for your input! I had it straped front and back but I used way to small of straps. Once they got wet I was in trouble. I posted pics of it so others could learn from my mistake. I got very lucky!

I was thinking of a way to mount the loader on the 2072! I need to sell off some of my other cubs and get a new trailer but the loader is staying put.:biggrin2:

Looks sweet duke!! im still on the NFs,just picked up a 126 with alike new engine,rebuilt clutch, hydro lift,3point,thrower,blade,and some sears impliments for $500!!!! hope to post some pics,but it might be a month or so.

I knew I would take some heat for the busted strap but I wanted others to learn from my mistake, so if I have to take some ribbing in the process then so be it.:beer2: I love the AG's and so want to start plowing with it but going to have to raise some $$ for the plow but it'll be worth it.

You should have seen the way the guys showed up the other day with a big Alice. They had 2 hand held come alongs on it. 1 pulling back and one pulling forward. That thing way rolling around on the trailer like an egg at the waffle house on a Sat morning! All the while they had chains and binders in the bed of the truck!
