Well I went and picked up this 1204 today. Has great tins on it and everything else is in great shape to. The seat is junk, and as wih all my 82's when I get them the hood orniment is broke . But in general it's a very nice tractor. I'm going to swap the peerless out with the rear end from the parts 1806 so that should make a nice gear drive when I'm done. I need to locate a few of the clutch parts for it but I have Mike checking for me and I'll probably send an email to good old Rich to. I'm sure betweent he two it wont be long! :biggrin2:

Here's one for ya Duke, I'm driving home and look in the rear view and to my surprise the seats gone. UH OH, so there's a rest stop just a mile away so I stop there, it's still in the bed but all the bolts are laying on the floor of my truck. Good thing I put a strap over the seat to keep it from bouncing around all the way home.

Funny you said that, no sooner did I stop and check it out about another mile and there was an NY state cop in the middle. :biggrin2: Thanks Duke check it out after a quick bath!

Notice my guard dog in the shot from the front. He sat there the entire time I cleaned it, never moved! :biggrin2:

jbollis 05-29-2011 06:59 PM

Nice find. I sure would like to know how you 2 down there are finding all these 82's. There is nothing to be had up this way, and when I do find one the owners think they are worth allot more then they are.

juniors1282 05-29-2011 09:14 PM

Thanks Joe. I went up past your way to get it. Mike and I will keep our eye's open for ya. Now that doesn't mean Mike will share :biggrin2:!!!

ACecil 05-29-2011 10:43 PM

It cleaned up great, Eric! :beerchug:

Nice find! And it cleaned up realy nice too! Be great to get it converted to a stiffer gear drive than the peerless. I say you need to find a mate to the ag tire on the front and matching ags for the rear!

TEET 05-29-2011 11:58 PM

Awesome 1204 Eric, cant wait to follow your tranny swap progress! :beerchug:

Dan, that is one of the tire's from my cart. The tire on the tractor was off the rim and froze to the spindle, so I swaped out the spindle and through that on there to move it around easier.

Yes it does Nick. Shows 803 hours on it, and it's really clean. The carb needs the bushings replaced in it for the throttle shaft, but over all should be an easy fix.

Cubcrazy 05-31-2011 11:40 AM

Nice looking 1204 Eric!
Sure wish I could have went with you to get it! Next time!
I don't know how you get them tractors so clean?!
You will have to show me what you do!

Well Hunter officialy decided that the 1204 is going to be his. I told him if he want's it that he's going to have to do most of the work! So after about 2 hours of come on dad let's go work on the tractor, I finaly gave in. It was a bit hot for my blood today so I made him wait till it cooled down a bit. We went from 50 degrees one day to 97 degrees the next, so much for spring. Anyway we got the rear end out of the 1806 tonight and pulled the rest of the brake linkage off it. He's already making plans for this weekend to get the rear out of the 1204 and get the new one in. Here's a couple shot's from tonight.

Cubcrazy 06-01-2011 06:51 AM

Looking good Eric!
Yeah, a little hot yesterday to be working!
You better get added on soon if you are keeping the 1204 now! You need room for that super!

juniors1282 06-01-2011 09:06 AM

That's funny I was just figuring out what all I had for the addition last night. Only need a few things to do it now, maybe this weekend sometime I can get the roof up!! :biggrin2: Yea SUPER!!!!:biggrin2:

Cubcrazy 06-01-2011 10:43 AM

Let me know if you need any help!

Yea Super is right!!!

ACecil 06-01-2011 11:56 AM

You guys are making me want a super...LOL! :beerchug:

gcbailey 06-01-2011 06:00 PM

Eric, that looks like a pretty good helper there! If he's like mine there's a ratchet in one hand and the DS in the other!

juniors1282 06-01-2011 10:31 PM

Gary, Yep he like's getting his hands dirty. If he has his choice he'll take a wrench or ratchet over his DS all day,:biggrin2:. Which is fine by me.

Well he wanted skinny fronts on it like dad's, so I had a set of spindle's and narrow rims and some old trailer tires laying around so he repainted the spindle's and helped me mount the tires on the rims and it looks good. We also got the rear end cleaned up a fresh coat of paint on it looks great. Going to try and pull the peerless out of the 1204 tonight and get the rear from the1806 in it tomorrow sometime. Here's a couple shots of the fronts and a before and after on the rear end.

ACecil 06-04-2011 08:40 PM

Looks really nice, Eric! :beerchug:

juniors1282 06-05-2011 09:18 PM

No ended up doing other stuff . We're going to hit it hard tomorrow afternoon.:biggrin2:

Cubcrazy 06-07-2011 11:21 AM

Do any more on the 1204 Eric?

juniors1282 06-07-2011 09:37 PM

Just some brake work nothin big everything was froze up and pretty rusted so we've been cleaning everything up good. I'll get some pics when we install everything, maybe this week sometime, MAYBE. Only Three more games, whoo hoo!!!!! :biggrin2:

Well we finally had time to play with the 1204. Got all the brake and clutch linkage changed the rear end is all buttned up, got the fenders strait and put back on. Changed the front spindle's and put the narrow front tires on for him. Now we're just waiting for some clutch parts to come in the mail. I have to find a three pin driver yet, but that should finish off the rear end swap. I still have to put a new throttle shaft and bushing in the carb and rebuild it but that's no big deal. Still have to order a seat cover and put that on for him, and an oil change is coming later tonight. Hopfully We'll get the rest done this week sometime and get to take it for a ride!!!:biggrin2:

ACecil 06-26-2011 05:29 PM

Sharp 1204, Eric! :beerchug:

Thanks Allen. I forgot to put a picture of the front on here. He spent all kinds of time cleaning the grill and repainting the head light mesh. He wanted the CCC emblem on it because the red one's have the IH emblem. He's pretty proud of the front end. I think he did a bang up job on it.

_DX3_ 06-26-2011 06:06 PM

That is a sweet 1204. You've done a great job with it as always. I still think I would love the narrow rims on the front of my 784.

Methos 06-26-2011 11:41 PM

Eric that's looking great!
