picked up my Cubs tonight....
So i picked up my cub cadets tonight I was talking about yesterday...
two 149s... one is a parts tractor. Im pretty happy so far! I'll know a little more when I start digging into it a little, but I got the two tractors, some sort of cultivator plow, and a pretty nice looking deck for $600. I also have another hood/front end for the parts tractor in the back of the truck along with a pile of other parts. let me know what you think ! http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k6.../cubcadet1.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k6.../cubcadet2.jpg http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k6.../cubcadet3.jpg |
I think you do good for what you paid. I can't tell for sure just from the angle of your pics, but I think the head light panel is from a 1000 series tractor (rubber mounted headlights in a perforated steel panel). 149 head lights are mounted behind a solid panel with plastic chrome bezels and metal retainers on the back side. Not that it really matters, just thought you would like to know.

Nice find! The cultivator is a Brinly with what looks like homemade plow ends.

Your 149's look awesome and you got some a deck that looks to be in great shape and a solid cultivator, but for crying out loud.....get rid of that JD seat!!!:biggrin2: Congrats on your cubs (nice looking trailer by the way!)

well, got the tractor off the trailer this morning... it seems to run and drive well... here are a few first drive observations..
the throttle is super touchy and some times takes off like a bat out of heck like there is no governor? the "N" position is actually about 1/4 inch into reverse range, so if it isn't right the trans makes bad noises when you shut it off... the deck is more or less worthless to me.. it looks nice but it doesnt hold a candle to my LT1045 as far as cutting the yard goes... I'll be selling/trading it.. any takers ?? :biggrin2: dropped the plow and it dug right in, tractor pulled it no problem. engine has great power and no smoke. Now to change all the fluids, tune up the engine, re paint the "chrome" wheels, and find me a roto tiller !! - allen |
Great Find.
