Ported hydro pump on manual lift 129?

2 Attachment(s)
I just wanted to double check what I think I know before I get too involved. I believe this pump out of a 129 is ported right. See picture. And if I remove the plugs, one side is pressure, other is return. Do I need to add anything else to the pump? relief valve or anything? I dont see how they can just plug them. Or maybe it wont even work? I dont know.
Thanks in advance!

That pump must be out of a 169. You cant just remove the plugs. You also have to install a relief spring and detent of some type. There was a service bulletin of this procedure. But I have never done this before.

Thanks, I will search for service bulletin on that. Exactly what I was wondering! :beerchug:

It is in a 129 now. I guess the hydraulic lift was an option on them so assume they must all be like this but I really dont know. It could have been swapped to?

when i took my hydro out of my 129 it was ported

I have a 129, it doesn't have the ported pump (wishing it did :bash2:). May have been the way the dealership ordered them from the factory...maybe some were ordered that way with the dealership's hoping to be able to gouge their customers for the upgrade?

THe 129 had the ported hydro as an option for hydraulic lift. I tried to buy one off a guy in south St. Louis that had the hydraulic lift. He was the original owner but could not convince him to part with it. Even said I would reduc the price of the backhoe I was selling and delivering but no such luck.

Im still having problems figuring what I need to do to make this work. I thought I saw something on what they did to convert the 169 over to hydraulic lift but cant find it. If anybody runs into the info I need to convert this over from plugged ported to hydro unplugged lol, could you post the link or guide me in the right direction. Thanks

Dumb question, looks like the bosses are there where the port plugs would be. Can they be drilled and tapped? Is there some other feature missing besides the two ports?

R Bedell 11-09-2020 08:19 PM

The "ported pump" would have internal passage ways and a Check Valve.
