New Engine Section
In case this hasn't been told we have a new section that is dedicated to "Kohler", "Kubota", "Onan" and "Brigss" engines. You can ask or post info about your engines here: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/f...splay.php?f=49
Thanks |
Thank you for adding this section to the site! Now when we have engine related issues we have a concentrated area for solving them! :beerchug:

''YES'' thanks for that part of site, but I do have to ask a question though, why do people call them "motors" and not "engines"? Cuz I was always told a motor ran on electricity? :bash:
|
I have never heard that before. It's been motors since I was a pup driving my grandfather's tractor. Just depends on what part of the country your from I guess.. :bash:
|
I used to work for a Chevy dealer years ago and I used to call them "motors" when I first started and used to get corrected all the time so there's why I asked. :beerchug:

Besides an "electric engine", just doesn't sound right. |
I fixed it for you... they are still motors to me tho. :biggrin2:

Well, I did a internet search on this topic and was enlightened.
It is common to refer to the power plant in our tractors as either a engine or a motor. Seems it depends on the geographic region one is from. BUT....there is the technical side of this of which I did not know. The term motor is referred to as a device that runs on electricity, while the device that runs on a fuel is referred as an engine. So, in the interest of being technical correct, I will change the wording to the correct terminology. |
Where do I post when asking about the electric powered Cub???
Just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin2: |
Like the internet says, An engine runs on gas and a motor runs on electricity. With that being said is this just for IH installed engines or can any "Briggs" be talked about? Thanks:bigthink:
