tiller pushes my 682

I thought you guys said a hydro will hold back a tiller.

It all depends on the soil, unworked soil will push any cub. Even worked up ground will push a little. The only way to help is to put on wheel weights and fluid in the tires.

It will hold it back, but not as good as a gear drive.

If any of the hydro linkage or trunnion is loose, that's not helping anything, either.

it was my wife's flower beds. there mostly all mulch

it wasnt skiding the tires . it was pushing like it was a gear drive in neutral

Nothwest Ohio is heavy soil. You will need to make several passes with each one slightly deeper than the last pass. First pass is around an inch or 2 deep.

there is 0 dirt / soil in my wifes flower bed. just years and years of mulch and sand.

Whenever I till with my 149, if the ground is virgin or harder than bleep, I have to feather the hydro lever some. What I mean is when it starts to push you, pull the lever back some towards neutral. It works for me. I also take a few passes going deeper with each pass.

in 2 weeks I'll take it to a bigger garden so I can play with it. her flower bed isnt very big . it was only 10' long. by the time I think I got it slowed down , it was time to lift the tiller.

how do I check the hydro oil? dip stick? it has a Fram filter on it , should I change it to a cub filter? part # anyone?

On a NF, it's filled to the bottom of the plug in the rear cover. What is your fram filter number? That way someone can cross reference it. I know NAPA has filters that are correct for cub cadets

tiller push

i know on my tiller if mounted in the wrong set of holes in back it will push like crazy there are 2 sets of holes upper and lower . the tiller manual tells you witch is better for hard or soft ground. makes a big differance in our michigan clay!

ok thanks. i think in my case , it was just me not using it enough to get use to it.
it works good now.
