1806 Wiring Diagram

Putting a magnum in my 982 from an 1806, does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?

Joe

This would definitely be a "Custom" drawn diagram. I'll see what I can do later today.

Thank you very much Roland.
FYI...there is no wiring harness in the 982 and I have the harness out
of the1806, I just need to know where to hook up the terminals.
Sorry that I wasn't clear. Both seem to be very similar.

OK....need add'l information.

a) What is the Chassis Serial Number of your 982?

b) What options does your 982 have (ie: rear PTO)?

BIGMOZEKE 03-18-2012 09:22 AM

Chassis serial number 2050592U674662
No rear PTO no other options other than the dual hydraulics.

GREAT... you have a IH built tractor.

One last thing. Are you going to use the Ignition Switch from the 1806 or the 982..???

BIGMOZEKE 03-18-2012 12:01 PM

Will use the 1806 switch

If you can be patient, I can do this for you. If you are in a hurry, then maybe some one else can jump on it.

Sounds to me like a wiring diagram from a 782 is what you're looking for. Safety options were all the same, and that's basically what you're making. Trust me - I just put an 18 Mag in my 982 and used my 784 for a basis. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it runs. I guess that the later model 18 Mags have the oil pressure sensor - that might throw a wrench in.

Hey Roland, I am very, very sorry that my post may have been interpreted that way. Based in the info that I provided you, I thought that you did not have a diagram with that information on it. I would have never expected anyone to go through the effort of drawing up a custom diagram for me as you referenced above. There was absolutely no hurry at all, just thought this was one that you did not have.
I surely appreciate all help but certainly do not expect it and would never rush anyone.
After I read your reply "that I can do this for you", it was clear to me that you apparently do custom drawings and I didn't think about it that way. I knew that many exchange these diagrams on here from time to time but I never followed a trail....until now, to see where they came from.
Again, no hurry at all, and thank you for your replies.

Thanks Maddog784.
I have the harness to the 1806 that is in excellent condition but I am sure that it will need to be extended somewhat as the 982 is longer and the wires don't reach. I also didn't want to make any assumptions that wiring colors may or may not have stayed the same from year to year. Having the diagram, I will be able to confirm with a meter where things should be and match that up to the drawing.

Is the 982's original engine battery ignition or magneto? If the former, the diagram floating around on here for putting an M18 into a 782 would work with minimal modification.

Nate the motor and harness in your 784 came from an 1806 :biggrin2:.
