782D overkill for a 1.5 acre yard?
In my quest for a couple cadets I came across a 782D for $2K. I could buy a lot of cubs for that...but, it is a diesel! :bigthink:
Overkill for my yard? |
Not even close to overkill. I mow two acres with a Super GT Diesel. It's just right. :beerchug:
|
I certainly wouldn't want to push-mow a 1.5 acre yard...:)
|
I guess asking that question on this forum is like asking an alcoholic if they want another drink! :biggrin2:

Nope, it's not overkill.
I have a 2 acre yard to mow, so I mow one acre with my 782, then I mow the other one with my 882. |

Get us some pictures as soon as you get it home  |
I have a782,bigger deck means less seatime though...I prefer the 72 with the 38" to mow my 2/3 thrd of an acre...
|
heck, any good looking cub would be worthy to mow one strip down a sidewalk and set as a lawn ornament the rest of the time in my book. Who says you gotta have a big yard for a nice toy?
|
Matt has a good point I have push mowed 2 acres before and that was to save up money to buy my first cub.
|
I have 1810 I will glady trade for it and some $$$

Put a plow on it
Bring the thing up to pickens area, put a plow in the ground, roll some smoke turn some dirt like it was ment to DO!!!:bigthink:

Our new Neighbors moved in. They have a 455 John Deere with a 54" Deck, the kissing cousin to my X700. They mowed last Saturday with it. We have 1/4 acre lots.
My 782 with the 50" deck won't fit through the fence gate, nor will my X700, so I won't be doing any mowing except maybe the front yard every now and then for some excercising of the tractor. When I had my 1450, I had to take an extension off of the tiller to get it through the gate, and then again to get it back out. Might have to pull that fence down once the 782 is running again. |
