Howdy from PA
Good morning to all :
I'm new to the forum, and boy am I glad I found this place I just purchased a 95 1641 cub cadet in excellent shape w/378 hrs. w/42'' deck . I'm hoping to find a larger deck (48'') in the future , I hope... The tractor is in such great shape I wasn't going to let a 42'' deck stop me from purchasing it. It is replacing a JD 212 w/46'' deck and it's 27 yrs old well it just needs too much work ($$$$) to make it right... so ... I've always wanted to try a CC and now I've got one. This site is great, I've done some lurking and there's tons of info here and it's members are more than helpful with trouble shooting problems and professional help. I'm sure I'll have some questions in the future and feel comfortable coming here to get some needed advice.... oh yea lol ... it's first time I've ever seen a lawn mower with a tilt steering wheel .... now that I never expected... oh well Anyway I'm off to do some more research. Have a good day. respects swampdog50 |

We love pics here! |
i do not have it at the house yet, will pick it up maybe wed or thur. and i will attempt to post pics, i'm not real computer smart and have not yet tryed the picture posting, but , i will attempt it . it actually looks pretty good , of coarse there is some rust on the deck and frame here and there but for being 17 yrs. old, it's in great shape. i bought it from a older guy, like me,,,lol! and it was stored in door, ''if'' it wasn't cutting grass, he did not have a plow for it, he said , all he ever did was cut a 1ac. of grass and that's it, and it looks it too. he showed me all the service records, i'm thinking i lucked out here with this one ,, time will tell .
thanx for the greeting swampdog50 |

I'm still collecting parts to fix up my latest cub a QL1450. That is none runable at this time.
I did fix the deck, 44" it it is ready to go. I have a hood and side covers now. I have to swedge the oil dipstick tube in, because it is loose and flopps around. then degrease the engine and surounding are. ect, ect. ole 147 |
morning .....
thanx for all the greetings i finally got the 1641 home and did some cuttin with it . well .... i'm a little disappointed with the deck, because ti clogged up too easy, so, i took a good look at the underside of the deck and it does need some TLC to say the least. i went and got some new blades because they were the original ones . now for the surface of the underside, is there any recommedations on what to do so it does not clog up so quickly? i did check on a new deck shell  WOW .. 800+, so that is not an option at this time. i have a idea and i'll run it by the members here.. i'm thinking if i use some of the ''rust reformer'' product, and then some high gloss black paint and then wax the heck out of it maybe i can get this summer out of it and then i'll think about getting a new deck next season... any and all suggestions or ideas r welcome and appreicated. thanx and to all have a safe and great holiday dont' forget to thank a Vet. regards swampdog50 |
i am also new to the cub cadet family. i sold my jd 212 and bought a cub 1250. the jd never ran right and everyone i know says cub's are the best. so I figured i give a cub a shot. the paint on the 1250 is a bit rough and the previous owner sanded and primed the top of the hood to keep it from rusting. I would love to repaint the tractor and possibly restore it as time permits. I am in need of a few attachments which i hope i can find over time. i need the tiller and either the snow thrower or snow blade. any help would be welcomed thanks
